We have just returned from a stay here. I agree with other reviews that trying to get into the hotel through the carpark and up a set of stairs to a lift with luggage and skis was tricky. The location was fantastic straight onto the slopes although it was rather a steep blue, but with only one weeks skiing under my belt I did manage it. The hotel is clean, and had no complaints over cleanliness. It is a fairly quiet hotel, and you have to go out for any night life at all. if you only want to sit in front of a log fire and read in the evening then
it's fine. The breakfast was excellent but the dinner each evening was a set three courses. If you didn't like what was on the menu which my son didn't on three occasions, the only alternative was steak and chips. The waiter and waitresses English was very basic and we did have problems understanding what was even on offer to eat, and had the wrong drinks brought to us several times. However we were in France so we should have learnt some French before we went.
We actually enjoyed watching the piste bashers and were only woken by them on one morning.
I would recommend this hotel if you are a die hard skier who doesn't mind quiet evenings and you are not a fussy eater.
Although I wanted the facility of a pool and sauna I never used it as it was in the next door building. It's much better if you have a hotel where you can pop a towelling robe on and nip down to the pool.
The skiing there is second to none but we are going to try another hotel next time.
