More a restraunt with rooms, I have stayed here many times in the past. In those days some rooms were available overlooking the courtyard, basic, but adequate and clean. They also had the advantage of being back from the road. Traffic noise is a problem in the front facing rooms overlooking the main road through the village. The nearby glass factory is a 24 hour operation and I assume some shifts changeover very early in the morning, resulting in a disturbed sleep. The courtyard rooms are now no longer available, so I am compelled to give the hotel a miss from now on.
I brought my grandchildren there in October for a lunch enroute to the Eurotunnel. Alas the meal did not live up to my expectations. Service was a slow for a lunchtime and the food as a result could have been warmer. The presentation was not on a par with other visits. A pity, we have had many pleasent stays there and could count on having an excellent meal. My ratings then would have been very good to excellent!
