“Lovely spot for a comfortable break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2007

Some friends of ours had their wedding reception at the Chateau de Lassalle, so we stayed here for one night and wished we could have stayed for longer! The Chateau is not far from Agen, but the grounds were very peaceful and it seemed to be a lovely hideaway. I think there are 18 rooms (we were in number 4 on the 2nd floor) and evidently they are all well-decorated and "carefully appointed" with each one having a theme. Ours overlooked the beautiful countryside, and was comfortable, spacious and relaxing with a large bathroom with bath/shower. The staff at the Chateau de Lassalle were very pleasant and accommodating and we enjoyed all the food they prepared and presented (because we were there for the wedding, I am not sure what their standard dining options are but the food we had was definitely delicious - 3 types of local foie gras, excellent lamb, and an excellent breakfast the next morning).
I would definitely return to the Chateau de Lassalle for a relaxing break in the beautiful French countryside...I would just want to stay for more than a night next time!

“Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2007

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it.
Rooms are all very individual..we stayed in the Bibliotheque which had loads of books and was one the ground floor so had a little semi private grassed seating area.. restaurant was fab. menu actually didnt have Canard on it thank goodness which was a welome relief in this part of the world(as we dont eat it) and the Lamb, Fish and Pork meals were cooked beatifully.
Place is very private and tucked away down a long drive..seems like they might have a few Minor French Celebs who stay here (although Ive never heard of any of them)..one party did arrive by helicopter to stay whilst we were there and left it in the field owned by the hotel.
Great Place
Good Food
Not too expensive

“Great hospitality at a hotel with character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2006

This is a family-run small "boutique" hotel in a very laid-back part of France, away from the normal tourist haunts. The hotel itself is a converted manor-house type chateau with only about 20 rooms - each one sylishly interior-designed. There has been some real care and attention gone into this renovation. We were lucky enough to have a duplex with a mezzanine floor - easily sleeps 4.

This pretty hotel is set in very private gardens with a good-size modern, clean pool (although not heated) and is the perfect place to go if you want a more relaxed atmosphere.

Probably one of the best aspects of the hotel, though, is its restaurant. Built as a conservatory-type building next to one of the very old outbuildings in the garden, the quality of food and the hospitality we received was fantastic!

To cap it all, because this is an "unfashionable" (for now) part of France it was good value.
