“Comfortable room, average breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Stayed here with my husband for 6 nights in January. We stayed in a cottage with a semi outdoor shower. The room was confortable and the bathroom nice, but it did have a musty smell to it. The resort grounds are pretty and green and the pool is lovely. We thought the breakfast buffet was pretty average and definitely repetitive after 6 days. The staff, like the Balinese people in general, are always smiling and attentive. The resort is a 15 minute walk from the Discovery shopping mall and there are a few foot spas and day spas very close by. Overall, a comfortable stay, but not particularly memorable.

“Not as good as last time”

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it, so were looking forward to it. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were always lovely. Unfortunately the family villa we were given was at the back of the hotel, near the staff facilities and main road which was not ideal. We asked for a room near the pool but were told they were all occupied. There was no phone reception in the room and my husband had to go to reception to use his phone. The chemicals used in the swimming pool appear to be extremely strong and my son had a bad reaction on his face, like a burn. He did not have this problem at a later hotel so I am sure it was the chemicals used in the pool. The hotel is in quite an unexciting area and there is not much around the hotel in the way of hotels or shopping close by. We won't stay again as there are better options.

“A little piece of paradise”

We stayed at the Rama for 5 nights - we were upgraded to a garden villa which included breakfast and free airport transfers in the rate. Hotel only an 8 minute journey to the airport but surprisingly you hardly hear any planes. The staff are very friendly, the pool awesome, the dinners that we had in the evening were of the highest standard ie. ribs, chicken curry and wonderful puddings. Rooms cleaned every day which was a surprise. Small supermarkets near by and a Commonwealth bank branch about a 5 minute walk. The breakfast was lovely. I travelled with 2 teenagers 13 and 15 and they had no complaints. Sure, there are other hotels that offer a kids club and more facilities etc but we were out most of the day anyway and flopped into the pool when we returned. We wanted to escape the Play Stations and Xbox's of home! In saying that I recommended to a staff member that a pool table, table tennis table, dart board and a few other games wouldn't go amiss and the teenagers would have more variety at the hotel. For the younger children, floaties and some pool toys would keep the kids occupied. Overall for our first stay in Bali, it was a hit. My hairdresser in Perth recommended it to me and I will recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden villa or pool villa. You will probably pay more but if it is off peak and booking...

Just back from a Garden Villa at this hotel. We enjoyed our stay here with a few reservations. The Hotel is not on the beach. The swimming pool was 2.4m2 deep with no shallow end although there was a seperate wading pool for children. Food at the restaurant was good with lots of variety. Staff were excellent as you would expect from the Balinese. The lighting in the Villa was poor especially in the wardrobe which made it difficult to see in the draws and suitcases. The Hotel is approx 15 minute walk along a path, beach side, to Centro and then on to central Kuta(about 20-25 mins if you walk along the street) All in all a pleasant stay although I would probaly choose an Hotel that has access directly on to the beach next time.

“Great location, friendly staff, rooms a little tired.”

Have stayed here on at least 6 times over the past 8 years and noticed on the this occasion the standard's have slipped. Some refurbishment needed on rooms though villas are very good. Welcome drink appreciated and swift checkin appreciated after 2 flights and 23 hrs travelling. Spa massage was wonderfull and very professional. Travel desk unable to provide information on local activities and didn't offer to find out. Overall still a pleasant stay but could be better.
