I stayed at the Santika beach Premiere resort for 11 nights and could not find a thing wrong with it. The staff were fantastic, the food more than good. Great pools, good beach. Close to Kuta and the eating area, good shopping close buy.

We have been to Bali several times before, and this was our first stay at this hotel. We were having a short break away from the kids, so were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, and preferably without the usual large number of Bintang clad bogans you find around Bali hotels. I am gald to say that this hotel really fit the bill for us. We had a premeier room, which was lovely. The king bed was really comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, as was the restaurant that we had breakfast in. The hotel was very lush and well established. We could also highly recommend the spa, where we had a great traditional Balines massage. All in all, I would recommend this hotel highly. I would love to come back with the kids, but the only option at this hotel for a family of 5 is interconnecting rroms which makes it very expensive.

This is an EXCELLENT hotel for FAMILIES with YOUNG KIDS.

These are the reasons:

(1) The QUALITY of SERVICE was OUTSTANDING. In fact, this was the key factor that led us to have a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing family holiday.

We could not find fault with even a single employee.

(2) The rooms (premiere) were large and comfortable. We are a family of four (kids aged five and two).

(3) The kids' pool water temperature was optimum and the water depth was perfect.

(4) The pools were directly outside our room... so it was easy for us to move back and forth... yet, we were not disturbed by the noise of swimmers.

(5) The breakfast variety was very good and quality of food and service were extremely satisfying.

(6) The hotel prices were reasonable.

The NEGATIVES:

(1) The hotel has a slightly dated look to it. But this is a minor complaint. I hope management will be cautious here by not allowing the hotel to age any further.

But, what's more important, is that the hotel will always be alert to keep its standard of service high and never allow it to deteriorate.

(2) We had a big problem with insects!! We were attacked by mosquitoes every night (yes, even in our air-con room). I spotted one lizard and one cockroach in our room during our 6-night stay here.

We were also continually "harassed" by houseflies while resting on the sun chairs by the side of the pool.

I also caught sight of a rat running across the pathway from the lobby to our room.

I am aware it is very difficult to control pests and insects in a tropical climate. And, to be fair to Santika, we have to tolerate these nuisances to an extent.

But, I do believe Santika management can do more to "reduce" the pest and insect problem. I do understand that they will never be able to eliminate the problem, though.

This was our first trip to Bali and we were so glad we chose this resort. We found Kuta a bit overwhelming and Santika was a great escape. Hard to believe you are right in the middle of Kuta when staying here. So peaceful and relaxing.We took our teenagers and stayed in two deluxe rooms with interconnecting doors. Pool is fantastic, buffett breakfast the best and staff beautiful friendly people. Deluxe rooms a bit tired but kept clean each day. We all just loved staying here and were quite sad to leave. Fantastic restaurants everywhere you can live like a king here.
