“Grotto bay”

My daughter and I visited the grotto bay Bach resort in august for a girls trip. We chose because it was all inclusive, I thnk it is one of the only all inclusive resorts on the island. It is very close to the airport only a $10 cab ride. We were not bothered by any noise from it. Rooms were nice, but you do need to walk uphill so I would not recommend for anyone that can not climb a hill. You also have to go down hill to get to the pool and the beach. The beach is small but nice! Food was very good, buffet for breakfast, outdoor restaurant AT the pool for lunch was very good. 2restaurants for dinner, both were good. We loved the island , took the bus into Hamilton, nice shops. Took the ferry to the naval dockyard and then took the bus back via the beach route , you can get off at many of the beaches and then just get back on the bus. They run around every 20 minutes and run exactly on time! Horseshoe bay was amazing for pictures. The hotel also has underground caves with swimming which was very different another great for pictures. We would return to the grotto bay and Bermuda during the spring or summer months

Room Tip: You could request to be closest to the lobby to have less of a climb to your room

In Oct of this past year, I was fortunate enough to find the Grotto hotel in Bermuda. My family and I had 4 days of pure bliss! These people do their jobs well and love doing it! The trip was our first time to Bermuda and what a gem find! The weather was perfect, the hotel exceptional ( laid back & cosy with class) and the people of this lovely Island, warm, friendly and sincere!

For our next trip ( chick trip with my 7 year old!) all my expectations were met and exceeded! We choose to return to our wonderful 'home away from home' at the Grotto.....and were welcomed back with open arms! The weather is cooler but the hospitality and warmth of the staff here is amazing! From Veronica. Ziara, and Keeva ( Wonder girls at the front desk) to Stevon ( 'Old soul' Bell Captain) to Christian ( Maitre' with the mostest) to E. Michael Jones ( Ambassador Extrardinaire!!!!) they have made our holiday wonderful!!! This spot is well worth it......The underground swimming hole, wild chickens and tame cats only add to the whole experience. Beautiful little beach and watersports available on site as well as it being very close to the airport and central to all sorts of things to do! I HIGHLY reccommend this property!

Room Tip: High lodges are best for view...lower ones close to pool and beach. All room here are lovely. But lo...

“Just wonderful”

I stayed here some years ago when I still lived in Boston. To board a plane in the cold late autumn weather of New England and touch down less than an hour later in this paradise was mind boggling. The Grotto Bay Resort is just across the causeway from the airport and a short walk to and stumble from the Swizzle Inn, (inventors of the Dark and Stormy).
The room I had wasn't fancy, but it was clean and decent and practically on the beach. The resort itself was nice enough that you could spend all your time there, but Bermuda is so compact that you really should get out and explore. I preferred this location over lodging in Hamilton because the nearness to the airport lets you linger a bit longer when you eventually have to leave and, afterall, they do have their own beach and caves to explore.
Remember, you can't rent a car in Bermuda, but scooters are convenient and the busses are cheap and efficient and you get to see the locals up-close.

Room Tip: Honestly, they are all pretty good.

Stayed in an Oceanfront Deluxe room. It's on the second floor overlooking the cove and ocean.
Even thought it is facing the Airport (5 min. from the Hotel) it was not noisy. Bathroom is a bit small, but we wanted to see the Island...so no problem (but bring your shower gel, the hotel provides soap bars, lotion and shampoo). Personnel is very friendly and helpful. We had just booked the Hotel and chose to partake of the all-inclusive plan (well worth it) from the Hotel. It was $99 a day p.p. and can only be used if you take at least 3 nights. It included Bus and Ferry rides (unlimited). Bus stop directly in front of the Resort. Crystal Cave within walking distance, plus a cave on the premises. Ice cream Parlor and Swizzle Inn Pub just down the road. Already considering the next trip there. We had a good time.

After our one-week long experience staying in this resort, we would not hesitate to recommend it wholeheartedly to the most demanding traveller.
Excellent rooms, impeccable grounds, pool, beach, even swimming in caves.
Good restaurants.
All natural attractions nearby.
Public transportation in all directions right at the gate.
Most suited for mature travellers like us.

Room Tip: Top floor !
