“Maybe for business”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

A hotel in a business park outside of Madrid. When I stayed her I felt almost alone in the hotel. Almost a bit spooky. However the room was some sort of mini-suite and quite spacious and the bed offered good sleeping comfort. Rooom service was alright. There was a restaurant in conjunction with the hotel (possible access via hotel basement) hwre the food was good although somewhat pricy. Again I felt rather alone with only two other tables occupied in a rather big restaurant.

Finally it is so strange to not offer WiFi included in room rate in a hotel like this whick can not be an alternative to anyone not there for business.

“If you go on business to La Moraleja”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

Decent hotel in the business park of La Moraleja. Close to the Moraleja Green Shopping Center. Definitely not worthed unless you are going on a business trip to meetings close by. Average breakfast and service. The building is old and tired, although rooms are spacious and clean.

“impersonal, out of the way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2008

I was put in a suite that looked somewhat 70s, although very spacious. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere unless you have to be in one of the office buildings around it.

“Terrible value for money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2007

I recently stayed one night at La Moraleja in Alcobendas, Madrid, and was severely disappointed from my stay.

It is obvious that this hotel has not been properly maintained for a very long time. As such, I find it outrageous for them to charge 185 EUR and up per night, for the low standard of quality delivered. This is not a four star hotel, it is at best 2 stars.

When I reserved on the hotel website, I asked for a suite with 2 double beds, non-smoking. I was instead given a smoking room with one double bed.

It went pretty much downhill from there. In a sad way, it became almost comic, to see what else could possibly be wrong with the room. Some examples:

Both phones in the room were unplugged, I had to crawl around on the floor to reconnect them. At which point I realized the room had not been vacuumed in weeks, judging from the huge amounts of dust and dirt which quickly accumulated on my knees and socks.

At least one window or sliding door per room could not be locked -- as the locks were completely broken. Very reassuring.

The air conditioner did not function at all. When I went to the circuit breaker to check the switches, the cover fell right off -- it wasn't evenly properly attached.

The complimentary pen next to the phone was, yes, out of ink.

It was very hard to get to sleep as there was a loud, persistent buzzing coming from the bathroom, or just above the bathroom. Continued straight thru till morning.

The room service club sandwich was equal parts mayonaisse and bread (no exaggeration). I had ordered a bottle of water to go with the meal, but it was not delivered. When I put the tray outside of my room for pick up that evening, it was still sitting there in the hallway, after breakfast the next morning.

The minibar could not be closed, because the freezer had about 6 inches of ice in it, which no one had bothered to defrost in a very long time.

No kleenex or tissues in the bathroom.

The weather is already quite warm in Madrid in May, so I thought the outdoor pool would be open. Nope -- the water was murky, and covered with many, many dead, decaying leaves.

There are a few more incidents, but I can't recall them now. Suffice to say, I will stay somewhere, anywhere, else next time around!

“Great service and location for business/leisure in northern Madrid (A1)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2006

The hotel La Moraleja was one of the first hotels in this part of the city, rooms are very big with seperated living and sleeping rooms plus a huge bathroom. The hotel is not new but in very well conditions with a great outdoor pool and a very good restaurant attached (La Albufera). It is located next to one of Madrid upscale shopping centers with many restaurants and cafes. Plaza Castilla is about 5min(please be aware of traffic!)by taxi or buses with metro access to Madrid

The hotel offers easy parking and access to the A1. If you do not want to stay inside the city but still be close with great shopping and restaurant facilities next by for you or your familiy this hotel is the place to stay. They rent as well little bungalows with some garden next to the pool.
