We have visited several historical Paradors, and this is one of the best. When we arrived it was very easy parking our car. We got a very nice superior room and when walking around in the old convent, we nearly got lost with all the court yards and halls. The breakfast was Ok and the location is good in the centre of the historical town. What we will remember best are the dinners we had. It was summer and they had a buffet in one of the court yards. There was a very good buffet with chefs helping the guests and we sat around with lovely music playing in the background. The service was formidable. The Parador do also have a good pool during the summer months.

Loved the location in an old convent with lovely patios. All well restored. Pool was refreshing in the La Mancha heat. However, best to stay away from the institutional type food in the restaurant.

This is our second time here, loved it the first time.
We got a room overlooking the pool and upon our return from a walk in the PM the room smelled of smoke. When we called to ask to be changed, we must have angered the gentleman at the reception because he put us in room #55 and now we are on top of the kitchen, with terrible noises from the dinner setup...I can just imagine what it will be tomorrow morning during breakfast.
Such a shame, because we drove out of our way to visit this parador to have this nasty person give us the worst room in the house in a half empry place....

The second time we have stayed here. Its off the beaten track but worth the visit.
Very attractive building with attractive grounds.
Very good Parador service throughout all areas and we enjoyed our trip again. Only one area that could have been improved is the breakfast, not what a Parador breakfast used to be for the money charged! (seems to be the case in all Paradors these days sadly)
Out of season, Almagro itself is very, very quiet so don't expect too much.
