Stayed here for a weekend on an annual outing with my daughter (11 years old) to take her to different places around Europe. Hotel is in a great location looking out over the sea with fantastic views. I had a room directly on the sea facing, rather looking over the peninsular and then to the sea. Nice balcony. Rooms were very nice, maintenance is a little showing in the details, but overall quality was good. No free bottled water available as usual in SPG with higher category members, but not the end of the world. layout of the rooms was very nice, with a bath looking out to the sea, my daughter loved this.
Reception staff helpful. Checked in late so not usual check in staff, so not given any briefing on the hotel. This was annoying as the spa does not admit children (any one under 17) only between 9 and 12. OK i can understand that if you are an adult you don't want kids running around, however I would have preferred to know this when checking in or have it in the materials in the room and then could have planned our time to do this. As was meant did not get to use the spa which my daughter had been looking forward to a relaxing afternoon after site seeing. I can say this is pretty much the only thing that really let the whole weekend down, unfortunately it was quite an important component and a main reason for coming to the hotel. There is no warning of this on the website only mention of a "kids club" but I think that that must be in the summer months as we never saw or heard anything about it.
Shuttle bus service to Athens was fine (in off peak time however so not many people) dropped centrally, clean and comfortable. Also taxi that was arranged was fine, and no funny business as some of the taxis try to do. Taxi fare into Athens was less than 20 euro, takes about 30min if traffic light. It is a bit far out from the cente, however the other side of that is you have the sea and very quiet. They have secuirty on the gates, so you are asked to identify yourself when coming in.
Used the grill restaurant which was good, service attentive and quality of the food good. They do a child menu as well. Could be considered quite expensive if you are on a budget with a family. Breakfast was OK, have had better in 5 star hotels, but adequate. Poached eggs were done perfectly, which surprisingly isn't always the case in top end hotels.
A nice touch was they arranged for me to leave my bags with the starwood hotel in Athens when did some touring on the last day so did not have to come back out to the hotel to pick them up.
Overall can recommend the hotel, but as mentioned not overly child welcoming.
