After a busy summer, This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Here for half business and half lesuire early December. Staff are friendly beyond belief! Major Kudos to George in The grill (Go there and have the linguine and lobster tagliatelle beeeeeautiful!!) a friendly face always welcoming with a smile. We were also upgraded to a suite with breathtaking veiws. Housekeeping were outstanding and turndown service was second to none. Decor beautiful, Free shuttle bus to Athens was very handy and extremely promt.
Over all this hotel created a luxurious and memorable experience.

“Nice hotel in the peninsular”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

The hotel is outside of Athens in the town of Vouliagmeni, a nice beach town. The property is a true 5 stars. We were upgraded to the corner suite with view of the harbour. The room is modern, big, and the bath is excellent. Having just returned from smaller boutique hotels in Mykonos and Santorini, we were please with the standards of the hotel. The services, however, could use some improvements.. that's the only reason we rated it a 4

Tip: There's a free shuttle that leaves the hotel in the morning and drop us off in the heart of the city. The pick up is in the afternoon in the same spot.

“So close to Arhens, and yet so far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011 via mobile

Stayed here a few nights on business. As an SPG Platinum member, I always got upgraded to an Excelsior Deluxe suite. Very nice, large and modern, with a walk-in dressing, steam shower and great balconies with a stunning sea view. Personnel is extremely friendly and professional. I really enjoyed the rich breakfast buffet, with eggs baked to order.
Travel into Athens centre takes about half an hour and yet, upon arrival here, once you've left your car in the car park (free) it seems like your aeons away. The sea, the park, the views... It really is like a remote island. Pure relax.
By the way: don't think it's only worthwhile to come here in summer. Actually, it's as enjoyable in winter and with the lower prices you get off season it really is a steal!
Wholeheartedly recommended! My next stay is already booked...

“Nice location & view, not really for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Stayed here for a weekend on an annual outing with my daughter (11 years old) to take her to different places around Europe. Hotel is in a great location looking out over the sea with fantastic views. I had a room directly on the sea facing, rather looking over the peninsular and then to the sea. Nice balcony. Rooms were very nice, maintenance is a little showing in the details, but overall quality was good. No free bottled water available as usual in SPG with higher category members, but not the end of the world. layout of the rooms was very nice, with a bath looking out to the sea, my daughter loved this.

Reception staff helpful. Checked in late so not usual check in staff, so not given any briefing on the hotel. This was annoying as the spa does not admit children (any one under 17) only between 9 and 12. OK i can understand that if you are an adult you don't want kids running around, however I would have preferred to know this when checking in or have it in the materials in the room and then could have planned our time to do this. As was meant did not get to use the spa which my daughter had been looking forward to a relaxing afternoon after site seeing. I can say this is pretty much the only thing that really let the whole weekend down, unfortunately it was quite an important component and a main reason for coming to the hotel. There is no warning of this on the website only mention of a "kids club" but I think that that must be in the summer months as we never saw or heard anything about it.

Shuttle bus service to Athens was fine (in off peak time however so not many people) dropped centrally, clean and comfortable. Also taxi that was arranged was fine, and no funny business as some of the taxis try to do. Taxi fare into Athens was less than 20 euro, takes about 30min if traffic light. It is a bit far out from the cente, however the other side of that is you have the sea and very quiet. They have secuirty on the gates, so you are asked to identify yourself when coming in.

Used the grill restaurant which was good, service attentive and quality of the food good. They do a child menu as well. Could be considered quite expensive if you are on a budget with a family. Breakfast was OK, have had better in 5 star hotels, but adequate. Poached eggs were done perfectly, which surprisingly isn't always the case in top end hotels.

A nice touch was they arranged for me to leave my bags with the starwood hotel in Athens when did some touring on the last day so did not have to come back out to the hotel to pick them up.

Overall can recommend the hotel, but as mentioned not overly child welcoming.

“5 star treatment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Coming back from santorini and Mykonos islands I did not have great expectations for Athens hotels. The hotel might be far but it is a fantastic experience; it provides the same island feeling, you think you are in a private island, nothing to do with a city like Athens.
The location is very upscale (I bet the rich greeks live there) but far from the city. Hopefully the hotel provided transportation to vouliagmani and the center otherwise it would be very expensive.
The room was new, spacious with perfect breathtaking view; double vanity, separate shower, bath, large private balcony with long chairs were some room favorite features
Spa was impressive but my favorite was matsuhisa resto; we had dinner almost every night there. Their private beach was full of stylish people with their designers suits. The hotel is large but you do not feel it with interesting clientele.
I loved again the attitude of the staff and the care they provided. Greeks are really hospitable people! I was expecting such a good service at this country!
We visited plaka, kolonaki and the new museum.
In conclusion Athens is a huge busy city, if you are looking for a quiet beach place to unwind away from the hassle and bussle then this is for you

Room Tip: waterfront building
