I have stayed in Holiday Inns throughout the world and I rate this one at the top for luxurious accommodations. I admit I was upgraded to an executive room, but have stayed in other rooms on other occasions. Consider this hotel if you need to stay near the airport at a reasonable rate. Take advantage of the free shuttle with at most a 15 minute wait at the airport. It is not convenient to downtown or to any tourist attractions, but there is a bus stop within a block that will take you downtown. There is a small restaurant with sandwiches, beer, etc. in the service station next door. Otherwise you are restricted to the hotel restaurant.

The hotel is nice, breakfast was ok as well, except for the coffee that was quite bad. One thing was very annoying, a lot of people come to this hotel for business and there is no free internet except in the lobby. I asked for internet in the room, they gave me a cable without telling me that it was going to cost me 13Euro per day, I discovered it when I got on the website. Internet is a standard commodity and there should be free wifi in the room in this kind of hotel.

The hotel looks strange from outside and inside as well. It is some weird modern type design. The was very disappointed by the hotel location. I booked it thinking that it is at the airport and so I was surprised that it took me 20 mins and 35 EUR by the cab to get there. The hotel room was OK, but was quite outdated and worn. Overall I wasn't very impressed and will not come back.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn near Athens airport numerous times. Each visit is always a pleasant stay - rooms are clean and comfortable. However, this time was more than nice. From my last visits, the front desk reps usually seem burned out from the job. I can understand that speaking to travelers can be cumbersome, especially when speaking to demanding or not so savvy travelers. Usually I try to make my check-in quick to avoid irritating the front desk rep. This time I noticed fresh faces at the front desk and staff more than willing to go the extra mile, which made my stay more than pleasant. The downside to this hotel is the airport shuttle runs at specific times. So, to avoid paying a hefty taxi fare to the Athens airport, always inquiry about the shuttle service. Unfortunately, the website doesn't mention shuttle hours and the front desk does not post a notice.
