We absolutely loved our stay at Lagonissi. We stayed in one of the seaside bungalows. Small garden and the beach right before our room. Loved it ! And so did our kids. The sea was so shallow that we could safely leave our 6-year old out to play in the water. The children had lots of fun snorkeling, looking for shells, fishes and little crabs. Quite often we were the only guests on the beach - in August. We liked the fact that the hotel offered a bottle of wine and fruit platter upon arrival and we thought that the golf carts were very practical : "just dial 9 and we will come and pick you up and take you anywhere you want to go." Great. And necessary because the hotel grounds are huge. Breakfast was excellent. Anyone that can't find something to his or her liking there is very, very picky... Think guests could dress a bit nicer for breakfast though... the things people put on to go for breakfast in a 5-star hotel... unbelievable. Had dinner in the asian restaurant and in the italian restaurant and the setting, service and food were excellent. Room service : excellent. Service at the swimming pool : excellent. Rooms were very clean. Spacious bathroom - steam shower and jacuzzi bad. Fluffy towels for bathroom & beach. Changed twice a day. Loads of good quality toiletries. The above being said.... staying at Lagonissi is very, VERY expensive ! I read in a previous review that they charge you for breathing... in fact, I believe that is indeed the case. There is a coffee maker in the room : 5 EUR for a coffee. 15 EUR for renting an in-house movie.. for that price I'd rather buy the DVD. 15 EUR additional cost for having room service into your room. Luckily breakfast was complimentary to the room rate - otherwise 25 EUR per person. Dinners for 4 costed over 200 EUR each time we went to one of the restaurants. Normal menus though - not fine dining for several hours. Sooooo .. we loved it, would love to go back, excellent location for a quick trip Brussels-Athens but.... cannot afford it.... :(

We were in this beautiful resort for a friends' wedding in September. The party took place in one of the outside restaurants right by the sea and was spectacular. Equally breathtaking was the hotel beach at day time: beautiful setting! Very nice indeed, and suitable also for children.

The value of the room was good, i.e. highly accessorized as you would expect from a "leading hotels of the world" member, but relatively small. What turned out to be quite costly, in fact, was the need for an ironed shirt 3 hours before the wedding. Since they do not offer irons in their rooms, the express ironing service cost me more than a lunch for two!

But other than that: this is a spectacular location where one can enjoy a highly luxurious service in a truly beautiful setting!

My other half and I stayed here because one of us was attending a business conference and, while it was perfectly satisfactory, would probably have chosen somewhere smaller, cheaper and more characterful had we had a free choice.

Pluses:
- The hotel itself is in an excellent location, secluded and with a pleasant private beach.
- The staff were very attentive - almost overly so.
- The breakfast at the hotel was good.
- The room was clean and had a nice balcony.

Minuses:
- The cost. By Greek standards, a very expensive weekend.
- While clean, the room was not particularly big or airy and did not have much character or charm. (Nor, for that matter, did the resort.)
- The use of golf buggies to travel everywhere (including to our car, which was parked in the car park a very short walk from the front door).
- The restaurant near the beach, which was very pricey and had rather mediocre service.

It was the most pleasant surprise for us in the recent years of traveling all over the world to spend unforgettable vacations near Athens!
The case is this marvelous hotel in Lagonissi placed on a peninsula and giving the visitor the choice of 3 different kind of beaches, 2 sandy beaches, one with deep waters and one with shallow waters perfect for the kids, and also one beach with small white stones and crystal waters!!!!
All these combined with luxurious and stylish decorated rooms, a magnificent setting with 4 different restaurants with great food near the sea and really beautiful walking around made the perfect vacation place for our family.
And the most important the service was excellent and the staff was always willing to fulfill every desire!!!
