“Great room, great view, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night before our Greek Cyclades Island catamaran cruise. The room was nicely appointed and had a great view of the beach and water. The staff were friendly and even let me borrow an electrical adaptor as I had forgotten to bring the correct one. The next morning, after the included breakfast, we hiked up the hill to the Temple of Poseiden. I wish we'd had more time here.

“Lovely bay, good hotel with a twist of design”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and thought it was quite good. Its strengths are clearly the location with a beautiful bay in front and the views on the temple close by. In fact we got a nice roomy room with view a spectacular sea view, which we loved having just arrived from the cold north.

As some other reviewers remarked, the review of this hotel should be somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, because I would rate rather "good" than "very good". Although we had a great time and enjoyed a good service, what was missingin the hotel was warmth and personality. It is a rather "cool" place because of its trendy design elements - but also because of the lack of warmth in service. Nothing terrible about it, but not as you would receive in other hotels of this size and cost.

The location is so spectacular that it is worth staying there. In that regard I would recommend this place. On the other hand, there is almost nothing to do nearby (except for the spectacular temple) which is why I wonder what you would do for an entire week.

“I can't wait to come back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

The hotel had all that was advertised and more. It was right on a spectacular beach within a short walk of the temple of poseidon. The park for the temple was excellent with lots of trails and additional beaches. The hotel was very clean with an very helpful and very courteous staff. Most of the staff spoke english very well. I'd rate it excellent except additional amenties are limited due to the remoteness of the hotel. The town of Lavrio is a short bus trip from the temple and has all the amenities anyone would need.
The room was beautiful with a spectacular view of the sea. We swam and relaxed on the beach every day. We stayed mid week so the beach was very uncrowded.
I can't wait to return. It was spectacular.

Room Tip: Request a room on the upper floors. The lower floors views can be obstructed

“Nice beach, grat staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

The beach hotel is indeed right on very nice beach. This is the main thing as there are not many other facilities. But great for kids as they have a playing room. Interesting temple just 10min walk from the hotel.
Very efficient staff incl. room service
Large room with see view balcony
Perfect for a couple of nights as a gateaway from Athens

minor minus:
- bed a bit hard
- perhaps not a bargain but there are not many alternatives in the aera

“Walk up to Poseidon Temple from the hotel beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

Sometimes I wish TA had a midway button between 'Average' and 'Very Good'! How about 'Good', which is where I would have placed this hotel?

Our sailing trip was starting in Lavrio (about 10 kms away). Unfortunately, Lavrio didn't seem to offer any recommended hotels, so we taxied (EUR65) from the International Airport through Lavrio and on to the Aegeon Beach Hotel for one overnight stop.

This is a special place for a family beach holiday, situated in a little cove, correctly described as being just below the Poseidon Temple. We walked the short path leading up to the temple. A shame it doesn't open until 0930, as the heat of the day was already biting when we got there.

Overall the hotel was 'Good'. Our room had a terrace with seating. The small bathroom was adequate. The bed could have been more comfortable. The restaurant was 'al fresco' with a view of Poseidon illuminated at night. The food at dinner and breakfast was perfectly acceptable. Reception staff were helpful and dining room staff smiled. Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but functional.

A taxi ride to Lavrio the next day was EUR15 where we joined our yacht. We tried to sleep on the yacht in Lavrio port that night (Saturday) but the loud music from the bar opposite did not abate until 0730 the next morning! Unbearable. Wish we had stayed a second night at the Aegeon Beach!
