I made this reservation on-line in advance (pre-paid). It was still very pricey at over $200 US. I'm also Accor Platinum, based on a recent promotion. I think this only earned me a welcome drink.
Location: There is no doubt that you can't beat the location. You are across the street from the airport. My flight was 6am, so I walked out at 4:30am and had plenty of time in the LH business lounge which opens at 4:30am.
Room: I was told I received an upgraded room (with a "great bed"), but it was not on the exec floor, nor did it appear so great. The queen bed was kind of worn/springy. The room was pretty much the bed, small sitting area. The bath areas were split up and smallish. One positive and one negative "surprise" - positive: the airport noise was non-existent - good construction; negative: no iron/ironing board in the room - are you kidding me for the price?
Free Wifi, so that was also a nice positive. Clean room, too.
Bar/Lounge: I visited the bar for my welcome drink. It was alright, but service was slow and the price menu was outrageous, so I only had the free one. There were TV's with sports events.
Room Service: I could not decide my evening meal, so I reverted reluctantly to room service. Two appetizers (pizza and soup) and a half bottle of Greek wine, came to over 50 Euro, and these were 2 of the more inexpensive items. This was disappointing, since the room rate was also very high.
Overall: All I can say is there was little to no "value" for the upcharges of an airport hotel, and I wonder whether I really was assigned an "upgraded" room or got anything for my elite status, as the front desk claimed during check-in. No major issues, except for lack of iron/board - but at these inflated prices, I would only return if I needed the proximity to the airport.
