“Nice place but definitely not 4 star service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011 via mobile

Nice place and location. The only negative was the room servicez, if you ordered food, they would not collect the trays till the next day, so you would have birds feeding off your plates. Overall the place has an amazing location, beach service was so soz, could improve. If these little things would change this would be the best place for summer holidays.

“wonderful time had.”

We stayed at the plaza resort for nine nights the last week of august, our trip was for a mix of business and family time together. It was perfect for both.
We had a room on the third floor in the middle so had a lovely view of the bay,the room was large, very clean and comfortable - a furnished terrace perfect for the morning coffee and for an apero watching the sunset.Housekeeping was unobtrusive both in the morning and at nighttime for the turndown service and towel replacement.
Breakfast buffet was large and varied, and the staff were attentive and friendly.
The hotel has 2 restuarants and a pool bar offering clubsandwiches and lighter bites, we ate at all 3 but we enjoyed most The Blue restaurant for lunch and evening meals, good selection of very tasty greek and international dishes with emphasis on delicious pasta and seafood.(the american maitre 'd was very entertaining and we enjoyed his passion and flair for his work).
The pool is large, very clean and staffed by life guards, there are wooden sunloungers with cushions, beach towels provided, with poolside and beachfront service for food and drinks.
The beach which is private for hotel guests and paying daytime visitors (busier at the weekends with families coming for athens to enjoy this lovely part of the coastline)-small pebbles and sand - always clean and the sea was crystal clear and a very nice temperature.
For children there is a kids club in the grounds with a small play park behind the tennis court, well thought out and shaded.
The watersports - Big Blue - very proffesional real emphasis on safety and wellbeing and really friendly our son had water skiing lessons and went out on the inflatables often ! Diving can be arranged thro Big Blue with the local dive club (aqua divers) who will collect you and drop you back after you diving.
The area around the hotel I would say is quiet - a small town/village with a good selection of greek restaurants our favourite tho was the greek steak restuarant ixmha (I think) review for that to follow.
to summarise - We had an excellent holiday with work included! the hotel is modern, bright with friendly attentive staff and we will most certainly go back again.
photos to follow soon.

Room Tip: choose a room seaside on the third floor for best views.

“Great Trip”

Our stay at the Plaza resort was for 6 days in July and everything was wonderful.
The service was excellent hats off to the staff very freindly and out going.
The beach and pool area was awsome. Great view of the surrounding area the water was crystal clean as was the beach. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean.
the room ballconies are huge with a great view (seaside). There is a grocery store across the street if you run out of anything. If you wish to leave the resort for dinner there are great restaurants about 5 minutes south of the hotel by car.
Our experience at the plaza was a great one I would visit this resort again .

“Bring your own cleaning supplies along....”

We took a 3 day break at the Plaza Resort in mid August and being 1/2 hour away from our home we went the previous day to make the booking and decide between mountain and sea view (don't go for the miniature mountain view unless you're very thin and have absolutely no luggage). Although we were shown a lovely room, we were checked into a complete different room on the 2nd floor mid section directly above the restaurant with a full view of a massive white rooftop which reflected the sunlight and heat directly into the room. Although we were also greeted by a lovely fruit bowl they also threw in for free a decorated dead orchid plant in a clear pot with rotting roots (you could smell the rotting). Upon closer inspection the bathtub was covered in hair (14 long hairs) so 5 seconds after checking in we requested to be moved to another room. Note that 1st floor sea view rooms only actually have tree views.
The very rude and angry 65 year old hotel manager told the reception lady to check their availability for another room, otherwise 'the lady will have to leave the hotel'. He then followed us to the room in disbelief and decided you couldn't see a single hair in the tub (probably because he wasn't wearing any glasses).
We were then transfered to another room which wasn't ready for another two hours so had to have lunch and wait before we could unpack and undress for the beach. Naturally absolutely no mention of a complimentary lunch, drink or even bottle of water during our two hour wait.
The new room was OKish if you don't mind blood stains on the carpet from the bed to the bathroom (we covered them in towels and wore shoes at all times). I made the mistake of reaching behind the nightstand to use the power outlet and was disgusted for the rest of our stay. Must add the the carpeted corridors were absolutely filthy.
Morning after our first stay we hit the beach at 8.00am only to discover that the beach 'opens' at 10.00, so had to sit on bare loungers amongst overflowing ashtrays and empty bottles from the previous day.
Suprisingly there were no showers or directions between beach and pool, so everyone rinsed their sandy feet on the overflowing bit of the pool. I'm so glad we didn't discover the pool toilets and shower (located behind the beach restaurant) till the very last day. It would have given us more reason to want to run off screaming in disgust.
On the plus side the beach and pool are lovely with good service, lots of options for food and drink and strong wifi at all areas. The hotel lobby is extremely impressive and the whole building is nicely decorated. The beds and pillows in the rooms are good, beach restaurant has decent food, and they offer a good breakfast. The staff are very friendly, especially the doorman and reception people, but under current management the whole place resembles a sinking ship...... which is a true shame due to it's prime located and very obvious former glory.

Room Tip: 1st floor sea view rooms are actually tree views. 2nd floor s/v rooms above restaurant have massive...

“Good quiet location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Just returned from a 9-day stay in the Plaza Resort.

Here is my +/-

(+) Clean, big. Cleaned on a daily basis with new fresh towels
(+) Good breakfast and dinner
(+) Nice attentive staff and always willing to help
(+) the Wi-Fi worked 98 % of the time
(+) Good pool area and private beach. The beach was taken well care of and there was no garbage left around
(-) Boring neighbourhood - this isn't the hotels fault though

Overall I am well satisfied with my stay and really I have nothing bad to say, other than I think that the neighbourhood is too boring.
