Bought 2 nights on a special discount deal (which turns out not to be such a good deal as when it says 50% discount, it's actually on rack rates when actual rates being charged this time of year are only a fraction more expensive than the offer, so even with a comp coffee and drink (not premium brands) thrown in it's not really that much of a deal. It is however very close to the centre of Athens (about 40minutes drive) so is ideal location for a quick relaxing getaway. Well appointed renovated rooms with excellent bathrooms - both in rooms and in public areas. Beds OK, pillows terrible (hard and lumpy). Very good insulation in rooms, as it's on the busy coast road leading from Athens to Sounion, and good a/c. Breakfast passable, just - dinner very poor. No atmosphere in the dining room, and poor food. If you have a car there are lots of very nice seaside places just up the road on the way to Sounion with lots of lovely tavernas. Could even think you were on a Greek island somewhere and not 40 minutes from town. Beach poor and stony (not pebbly) - both in and out of the water. Access however is good by underground passage so you don't have to negotiate the busy road. Beach bar and water sports available. Large comfortable swimming pool (had just been refilled when we got there) with sunbeds but very few umbrellas for the shade. Off putting that you have to pay a 10euro guarantee for each beach towel you ask for (this is returned but you do have to pay 1euro rental for each towel, per day). Not compatible with a 4* hotel! Attracts a lot of families with young children but certainly wasn't a problem. Staff very limited and definitely overworked, but very willing to satisfy your requests, and cost cutting was apparent. Attractive green lush grounds, and good parking availability for those with cars. Good for brief getaway, but wouldn't recommend for a full length holiday.
