My family and I stayed at this hotel during the high school graduation season. There were cockroaches, bedbugs, ants, and at some point the kids and I contracted scabies from the bedding. (Was verified by father-in-law who is a physician.) Also when we decided to try and make use of the small pool we found a dead bird in the filter, and it was obvious it'd been there for awhile, we'd found it after we'd all been in the water already. Also the room was not very clean, there was mold in the bathroom around the toilet and shower area, the shower head actually broke when it was adjusted and there was dust and hair on the floor in the bathroom as well. Sadly because we arrived late in the evening we were stuck with this hotel, though after braving the first night of our say in McKinney at this hotel; we actually opted to camp out at our family's house rather than return. We also registered our complaint with the general manager.

To be fair, they are doing some renovations and the hotel is adjacent to a freeway under construction. It is built in the common two-story balcony-around-the-edges format, meaning that guests and staff walk by the large windows frequently. The biggest downside is that the windows are of cheapest quality, meaning they don't block noise well at all. The area is commercial. Continental breakfast was sparse. WiFi was weak but usable. One computer in undecorated lobby, and no printer. The staff and extended family running the property are friendly, but the overall feel is somewhat inept and downscale. Microwave and fridge in room. As another reviewer commented, the Wyndham brand is not enhanced by the condition of this property.

We were not sure where we wanted to stay in McKinney...so we checked out a few hotels and decided to stay at the Days Inn McKinney. We were able to check out the rooms before we stayed in them which was great. Our room had 2 Queen pillowtop beds, a fridge and a microwave...The beds were very comfortable and in the summer heat the room was nice and cool.. The pool was just the right size for the children to play in and have fun.. They are in the process of remodeling which is good for any hotel and the rooms we had were redone and in good shape.. The location was also great.. near a Wal-Mart, Sams and a variety of restaurants..
You wonder where the honest employees come in well here is the story...My daughter is usually good about keeping up with her DSi and games but on this trip she goofed. We had packed up all of our thing in the car when she realized she could not find her DSi. We searched the car and went back and looked over the room and didn’t see it. We thought maybe it got put in another bag or a shopping bag. When we got home we looked all through the car, all the bags and nothing, No DSi. So I thought I would call the hotel to see if by chance they found it. I was just praying that someone did find it and that they would be honest enough to return it. When I called the hotel the gentleman said that he would check with the housekeeping to see if they had found it. Almost one hour later I received a call saying that they found it and that it would be left at the front desk for it to be picked up.. We live about 3 hours away and could not come and get it because it was a Monday with work and all. I had a cousin of ours who works near by to pick it up. All they needed was for me to fax them a note and give them her info so they could verify it when she picked it up.. She was able to pick it up Monday afternoon and they called me to let me know that she had gotten it and that they were glad to help us out... I told them the next time we go up there to shop at the Allen outlet mall we will be staying there because it hard to find honest people like that anymore... I rolled the dice when I made this reservation. Inclined to stay at the double the price Holiday Inn ... I took a risk and picked the Hotel closest to the Collin County Courthouse. My room had all the amenities of the more expensive chains, and I can honestly say that although the Hotel was in the midst of being updated and renovated, it was one of the cleanest, quietest rooms I've ever had. The express breakfast in the lobby was perfect for me and the I HOP was just down the road for a heartier brunch. Fast food,restaurants and shopping are minutes away . The courthouse was about five minutes up the access road to the left. The check in and out was quick and courteous. I saved around $60.00 ... and feel good about it.
