I stayed here 2 nights. The rooms are updated and new. I was impressed with the remodel. The location is right near 3 other hotels...they share the same parking lot. It is very easy to find and close to Angelina College,which is where I was speaking.


Check in was efficient. I asked if I could use the computer in the lobby and was told that it had been broken all week ( it was Friday) and that a technician had to come from Dallas ( what?) and it could be a while.

My room was very pleasant, spacious and clean. At 8:30, I was watching a fuzzy TV and picked up the phone to call for a wake up call. The phone DID NOT WORK. This is a risk management issue as someone may have a heart attack or an allergic reaction in the middle of the night and need to call the front desk ASAP.

I switched the cord into several outlets and also wall plugs...nothing. I called the front desk on my cell phone and told her what was up. I asked if I could get another phone. I was told that she did not have one. She offered to move me to another room.

HELLO...COULD YOU NOT JUST BRING ME A WORKING PHONE FROM ANOTHER ROOM? If an iron did not work, would you move the guest to another room or get them a different iron?

The front desk girl laughed at me when I told her that there could be an emergency and that it was dangerous.

I was put off and tried to relax. Finally, I fiddled with the wire and got the phone to work. I left a note for housekeeping and the note that was left back for me said the phone would be fixed on Monday...it was Saturday.


MORAL...always check your phone when you walk into your room and do not wait until the night crew gets there....LOL!

With 3 other hotels sharing the same parking lot, this hotel has a lot to learn!

Excellent Place. Very Clean. Very Quiet. They even had a baseball tornament going on with teenaged kids and they didn't cause any problems or make alot of noise. The only concern that we had that was that the description of the hotel stated that they had a heated indoor pool. All is true but the heated part. The pool was freezing. However, that didn't ruin our stay. We will be staying again.

I see alot of other people didnt really enjoy their stay here - I however, was surprised at how nice the room was - clean and it didnt smell moldy like some hotel rooms often do in humid areas. I enjoyed my stay here and the staff was very helpful. Its probably best to call and see if you can request a room to your liking if you have doubts. Wireless Interenet was a plus and I didn't have any issues at all.

A reservation was made two weeks in advance and the confirmation number was received. However, upon check-in the prices quoted were double to us as well as several other families in the lobby. We showed them our confirmation number and they said that we could pay it or leave and if we argued they would call the police.
The rudeness and unprofessionalism of the clerks as well as the management prompted me to write this review and save you the time we wasted with a company that clearly is cheating its customers.
