“Not our best night out”

Had reservations and checked in w/o issues. After settling into room hooked up to wifi & found good signal strength but "local only" for quality inn unit. Tried several times and with another laptop as well. Called front desk & was told "try rebooting and restarting your browser". Did not work, of course. Walked to front office @ 9:00pm to use guest computer. No such thing provided or considered. Back to room somewhat disgusted. Decided to go after diet cokes. Called office and was told only machine on property was second floor in another building. It was not working. Walked to front office, again, and was told to go next door to the Holiday Inn Express or the Comfort Suites. They had drink machines. Wow! Have stayed at many different hotels & motels around the USA and never have we encountered such a lack of facilities for guests as this place. The clerk, Terren, was most apologetic but there was nothing she could do. Uncertain who the relief clerk was this morning @ 7:35am or so but she was sullen and not friendly with anyone, including the young many she was relieving. We will not be returning to this place as there are many other facilities up the road, although the room was quite acceptable otherwise.

Room Tip: If you need to stay in this area of Lufkin try the newer Comfort Suites or Holiday Inn Express nearb...

“Dirty, dingy but staff is great!!”

This is the dirtiest Quality Inn I've ever stayed at. We were forced to switch hotels after the one we were staying in decided to change their pet policy. Found this one online and since we'd be in town, on business 6-8 weeks, the weekly rate looked like a steal. Well, on this one you definitely get what you pay for. The first appearance is ok. Tons of workers outside their rooms, drinking, hanging out so with two young toddlers I wouldn't walk around without my husband. Thankfully we were put in the back where it was quiet. Upon entering our room we noticed it felt damp but somewhat renovated. Th fridge was cracked and there was plaster, from the renovations, all over the place. An infestation of spiders behind the door and dead bugs smashed on one of the walls. Bedding and towels extremely dingy, and all the bedding had either holes or stains. The mattresses were older and all you could feel were the springs. Found MARIJUANA in the bedside table. Thankfully I was able to clean it up before my children got to it. Didn't want to make a fuss as the front desk girl had been so sweet and helpful.
The next day I woke up with several bites on my body and upon further inspection found BED BUGS! Called the front desk who moved us to another room immediately and sent the manager to speak to us. She was very apologetic and comped our first night's stay and offered us a free breakfast in the restaurant. She was a very sweet woman.
Upon switching rooms we noticed our new one smelled of wet dog and a barn. This one was also damp. My heart husband has just returned from business, and was exhausted so we left it alone and sprayed half a can of Lysol. There was no phone in this room so we called from the old room and they told us just to take that one. There were also no towels, so the front desk had to bring us some. The good thing about this room however were the newer, pillowtop mattresses.
Go to following morning, woke up well rested. Housekeeping came and used a broom to sweep the floor. Not a vacuum, a broom! Needless to say, all it did was spread plaster, and crumbs from the kids, further into the carpet. Called the front desk who had housekeeping then come vacuum. It really did no good because the thing looked like it was on its last leg. Also do not walk around in bare feet as the carpet turns them black.
We are still currently at this hotel, searching for an affordable one that excepts pets. This place wouldn't be so bad if they got new linens, towels, etc, did some serious deep cleaning, including crevices and under furniture, and shampooed the carpets. The staff is awesome though.

“okay if you can deal with a little noise”

just passing through the area and looking for a decent place to shower and sleep. The room was about average....but needed some deep cleaning/dusting in corners and behind the bed. The coffee maker was missing so we requested another one...only to find out the next morning it didn't work. The water pressure in the shower was the best of our 10 day trip....the only bad part is you don't want to get out of the shower! The bed was comfortable, but the rooms weren't very sound proof. Lots of slamming doors early in the morning meant we didn't need a wake up call!

“Horrid”

They took an hour to check me in, even with a reservation... I had to find my own room via the housekeeping staff. They 'held' $1200 on my credit card in the first 2 days and continued to hold more money than I owed. The manager doesn't know anything, the front desk clerks don't know anything, the housekeeping staff take all your linens in the morning and doesn't return them until after 5 pm on some days. The front desk doesn't answer the phone for me to get my business calls. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. The room was fine, it was everything else that was unacceptable.
