We stayed one night in a 2 bedroom suite - the place is dirty. The kitchen utensils and other cooking stuff were missing. The light and vent fan on top of the stove didn't work. The sofa and carpet were dirty and very old. The hotel seemed to be a run down property. It needs major work/upgrade. I stayed in Fairfield and Residence Inn in other cities during this long trip - those are way better than this place. Please fix your property - you guys are giving bad reviews about Marriot overall. Marriot corporate management should come and check this property carefully. I stayed in Holiday Inn in Wolfforth/Lubbock 10 days before this stay - please check out how nice and clean their property is. You guys would go out of business soon if you keep this place as it is.

We went to Lubbock for my sister's wedding and her fiancé suggested this place. We arrived at the hotel a bit early for check in, but accommodated easily by the front desk. They gave us our key and just as we arrived we got a call advising they gave us the wrong room. They delivered the new key, but had to call them back as it was facing the main access road to the highway, and I didn't want to have the noise from that. So, they delivered another key to room on the opposite side facing the pool (not yet opened for the season).
The room was very comfy with two queen sized beds, a kitchenette and a nice sized bathroom. The room was large enough to have a couch, coffee table, 2 end tables, night stands and a TV. The bathroom had a walk-in closet that connected to the hall closet next to the front door. The kitchenette had a full sized refrigerator with ice maker, sink with disposal (that didn't work), a dishwasher, dishes, utensils, pots & pans and a coffee maker. It was an awesome room.
Each morning we met the wedding party at the breakfast room where free breakfast was there for the taking. They had a large selection of cereals, juices, milk, yogurt, waffles and coffee that you would get your fill. They replenished the items throughout the morning, so you weren't left out if you got there 10 minutes before they stopped serving breakfast.
The maid service and the front desk people were very friendly and always helpful. We saved a good amount (about $10 per night) by booking on the Marriott site and pre-paying. It's also close (less than half a mile) to the local Harley Davidson dealership (we ride), so it's an option to look and/or rent a bike while you're in Lubbock. I would like to stay here again when I go back to visit my sister.

This hotel was not a good experience for me. My husband and I went to Lubbock for the weekend. We came from San Antonio, and showed up on Friday night at midnight. We had reservations and the hotel was full. Exhausted, we went up to our room and put our key in...surprisingly, the room was already occupied! We went back downstairs with all our stuff, and told the clerk. He was very apologetic and gave us a different room. We got to our room and it was clearly beat-up; the bathroom tile was cracked, there was a leak stain on the floor as you walked in, and the heat wasn't working. The next morning, we woke up, (the bed was so uncomfortable) and realized the bed cover had a giant blood stain on it (and we had slept on it all night!) Then my husband took a shower, and the shower head was broken and kept falling down. I called the front desk multiple times that day to try to get a new bedcover, and I got an attitude on my second call. Finally, the cleaning person came by to clean the room (at 4:30),and I brought the blanket to the door. She took it away and brought me a new cover.
I would say the service here was "ok", the clerks were typcial and the cleaning people were very friendly. The breakfast was also good...but there seems to be something wrong with the "upper" managment- it's clear they do not take the necessary steps to care for their hotel rooms...I was very dissapointed. If you want to stay in a "nice" hotel- DON'T stay here!

Saw nothing to indicate what some of the negative reviews referred to... but were not picky people. My wife just wants a clean bathroom and clean sheets.... I think we might have ended up with a handicapped accessible room? The bathroom was especially roomy. I liked it, though. Young guy working the front desk might be new.
