When our electricity blew out on a hot summer day, we decided to check into a cheap motel overnight while they fixed our home.
We found Monterey Inn, a place my aunts usually stay at when coming from Indiana.
The staff was somewhat friendly. Not cranky, nor extra friendly, just polite, which is always a plus for me.
When we got to the room, it was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and everything seemed in good shape.
There wasn't anything fancy, like wifi or data ports, just two beds, a TV, a round table with chairs, and the bathroom. Then again, with a price of around $40 per night, you can't expect more.
There is a swimming pool, which is nice. I've been there before when my aunts make thier yearly trip to Laredo. The only beef I have with it is that it's right in the front area, visible to all the people driving down the extremely busy street San Bernardo. I really would like more privacy when I swim.
All in all, it's a good hotel if you're on a budget and don't want any frills, but just a bed to sleep in and a shower.
