The place seemed clean as well as the rooms. The rate was reasonable (with a coupon) and they offer breakfast.

The location, however...the hotel is close to the railroad tracks. The railroad tracks close by had trains even in the middle of the night...VERY noisy.

The room where I stayed was on the 2nd floor, close to the pool...there were some guests at the pool that were very loud in the morning and at night.

I told the front desk and later while checking my credit card statement, it seemed that I received a free night, although they didn't let me know...I'm guessing it was an error...or maybe they didn't want to lose business...whatever the reason was, it didn't convince me to stay there again...

I travel to Laredo at least twice a month and decided to stay at the Hampton. i knew what to expect as i have stayed at other Hamptons. what i didnt expect was to find such nice people. Nancy and Candy at the front desk were just great. nancy made me feel welcomed and offered me a bottle water. i guess working in the sun was obvious. the beds are the key item in the room. The room was clean, cool and very comfortable. in the morning the breakfast host made me sure that I ate a good meal before leaving going so far as to packing a snack for me to go. i felt at home. on my way out, candy at the front desk made sure everything was good and helped me with my future stay. Quite frankly, I dont stay anywhere else but here.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and on the last night there I realized there were 2 personal items missing. (I had actually purchased them while in Laredo.) I was told by the desk clerk I would be contacted after an investigation, the Manager was too busy to see me when I checked out. I have not heard a word from them so I am writing this to warn fellow travelers. Obviously I didn't receive a survey about this stay or I would have given my negative statements directly to them.

The HI Laredo was a completely uninspiring stay. The hotel was fine if all you want is a bed, shower and internet. The breakfast, service, gym were completely forgettable. However, one thing I will not forget are the train tracks across from the hotel. Why?? The freight train that runs through at all hours of the a.m. and sounds its horn. The two nights I was there, I was awoken a few times per night. Stay here only if you are a VERY heavy sleeper.
