“I felt as if I was a VIP! 5 star, baby!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2010

This was indeed the warmest welcome from ANY La Quinta Inn that we've stayed at across the country! I was pleased to see the general manager, Mr. Sedita, so available and so helpful. The whole staff was so helpful and loving to our small doggies as well! They loved the water and treat bags! The jacuzzi was helpful in easing the aches and pains of driving cross country and the pool was refreshing! The beds are sooooo comfy! That felt just like our bed at home and it helped me sleep better! When coming back to Humble, I would gladly return and stay! Oh! The fresh baked cookies and sweet tea wasn't bad, either! Love the treat! A special shout out to Karen working nights at the front desk - she is very friendly and pleasant to deal with! Thanks for the conversation! We will definitely be back!

“Another Excellent Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2009

Service: Check in was very easy. Gail checked me in and immediately gave me my room number and room keys with a smile. I even came by the desk later that night and she gave me a baggie of fresh baked cookies! Check-out was even easier. Sometime throughout the night, they slipped my invoice under the door. They have an express check out service where all you have to do is leave the room keys in the room and just call the front desk. You don't even have to stop to check-out. So that made things easier. I put my "do not disturb" sign up when I left the room and when I got back, there was a little note on my door with a bag of fresh toiletries and towels. I thought that was very nice, since usually if you miss housekeeping, hotels usually forget about you. I stayed at the Marriott and they didn't even do that for me. Also, if you want to sleep in past 8:30 am, put your "do not disturb" sign up. Housekeeping start knocking on doors around this time.

Room (#122): I got the King Jacuzzi Suite this time, versus the regular King Suite. (See my other review dated 8/12 from my previous stay).

There was a complimentary bag of microwave popcorn and a bottled water. The room is the same size as the regular King Suite, except of course there is a jacuzzi right by the bed. Since the jacuzzi limits the free space in the room, you get a smaller desk and no sitting area like the regular king suite. I didn't mind either way. The 42" tv is always a big plus. Small microwave and mini-fridge in a cabinet. There is also a large humidifier in the room other than the AC/heater unit. The ceiling fan was nice since it helped circulate the air in the room. The jacuzzi tub has a timer knob on the wall that you have to turn before pushing the on button in the jacuzzi. Little weird since the dial is over by the fridge and not right next to the tub. The alarm clock is also an iPod dock so you can charge/listen to your iPod when you're in your room.

The only real negative about my room is that the cylinder pillow with the La Quinta letters on it was really dirty. There were stains all over it, as if it had never been cleaned. It was a little gross since it was sitting on the sheets.

Bathroom: The bathroom is normal sized. Nothing above the normal. There are little tub stickers on the bottom of the tub to prevent slipping/falling. They need to be updated. Some were peeling off and kept scratching my feet. Not too big of an issue, but thought I'd share it.

Hallway Music: In my previous review I said that the hallway music was pretty loud. I'm not sure if it was because I was on the first floor or because the lobby noise toned it down, but the music wasn't that loud this time. A lot better.

Mornings: I wasn't able to catch the free breakfast again this time. However, I heard people in the hallway in the morning say that they were suprised on how good it was.

All and all, another great stay! Again, I would highly recommend this place for anything. It is a little out of the busy downtown of Houston, but it's worth it. Just a quiet relaxing hotel on the outskirts of the city. Also, don't forget to ask for Gail! You'll feel like a VIP when she assists you!

“Way too expensive!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2009

As the only "motel" that offers a "pet friendly" atmosphere, we selected this motel (it's a stretch to rate this as a hotel). The staff was very friendly, and accommodating. However, upon check-in, we were excited to hear that there was a breakfast in the morning that included a great assortment of "fresh eggs, sausage and biscuits with gravy, waffles, and pastries, juices, and coffee". Sounds good, right? Well, the sausage and biscuits were the packaged kind you can by at a convenience store out of the freezer to microwave. The biscuits, and other pastries, were in a storage bin that had fruit flies all over and in it. The plates we were to use were the cheapest styrofoam plates (I had to use five stacked to keep the plate from bending). The orange juice was water with maybe two drops of orange in it. And, the eggs...hard boiled (probably made a couple of days before) that also had an assortment of fruit flies swarming them. The room was nice, and we needed a pet-friendly motel, but $139 (with tax) was WAY too expensive!

“Possibly the best La Quinta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2008

Wow - I was pleasantly surprised with this La Quinta. I rarely stay at them any more (usually Hamptons or HI Express). This is a small, but great place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a very nice variety, including biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles, microwabable sausage biscuits, etc.

The room we had was a King junior suite type - one large space, with a fold out single sofa. The room was very clean, along with the bathroom, which had plenty of hot water and pressure.

There is an indoor pool, nice for the winter, though a little cool a couple of times. The hot tub was definitely hot!

The location is very convenient if visiting Kingwood. Consider Bill's Cafe, just down the Loop for a meal.

Wireless Internet worked perfectly.

There is the typical hallway noise that I experience with La Quintas (due to their construction materials), but it was not bad.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Texas-shaped Waffles!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2008

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Kingwood La Quinta. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The bed was amazing. (To be frank, I came home and found my own bed less than adequate. ) Even the breakfast was an impressive spread (for a free continental breakfast). We particularly enjoyed the Texas-shaped waffles! Close enouh to Houston to commute in for an Astros game.
