“Should've stayed here in the beginning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

Wife, myself, son/fiancee were in kingsville for my father in-law's funeral. We had first booked the Super 8 but there were odor(mothballs), rat issues and we got a refund and moved to the Rodeway Inn. Wife and I had stayed there 3-4 yrs ago but I forgot how hotel looked. We spoke to front desk and booked 3 rooms for 3-4 nights. When front desk found out that we were there for a funeral they gave us a $20 a night discount on all 3 rooms. The staff is great, rooms are very clean and they also give us 1 ticket per person for the drink at the restaurant next to the hotel. The room wife and I got was nice, executive room and had a tv, microwave, fridge, big bed, and small chair with ottoman and desk with free wifi.

The free breakfast was ok but the restaurant had very good chhese sticks, chicken finger basket. They have a bar where we got our free/strong drinks and watched some football. The restaurant also has poool for those that want to relax and play some pool. On Christmas eve we stayed at the Holiday Inn and that was nice but the Roadway Inn is $50-60 a night less and that is plenty of savings. The breakfast is the same at both hotels. So if you are in Kingsville and need a good priced hotel, stay at the Roadway Inn, you won't regret it.

“Anytime”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

This hotel is very convenient located if you want to visit the King Ranch, which is 10min drive away. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great for the price we payed. We only spend there one night, but i would def. stay there again if I would come to Kingsville.

“Typical of cheaper hotel chains”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2009

The room was adequate, but typical of the cheaper hotel chains. We stayed almost a week and noticed that the housekeeper did as little as possible...didn't replace the empty toilet roll or empty box of tissues, or clean the moldy coffee out of the coffee maker.
As for breakfast...poor quality and very inconsistent from one day to the next, e.g. sometimes fruit, some days none. There was oatmeal in a crock pot, sometimes barely cooked, and one day the leftovers were still in the pot the next morning. There is no hot water in the breakfast room for tea drinkers, and while one can get hot water from the attached convenience store, they charge you for any size but the small cup for hot water.
On the positive side, the front desk staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful. There was also mini fridge in the room which was a real convenience.

“How much it changed!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2009

I am originally from the kingsville area and often come back to visit friends during the holidays. I used to always stay at the Rodeway because it was the nicest place in town. This last time however, it was completely different. The room I got was very dirty, still hair in the tub and stains on the counter. They had stopped having the really good breakfasts and the new food was terrible!! I asked around and discovered that the property had been sold and new managment was not keeping up as well. I really hate to see it happen, it was such a nice place!!

  • Liked — The attached convenience store and a little bar
  • Disliked — dirty rooms that weren't kept up well

“Nice traveler's motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2006

We stopped here based on previous reviews, and they were right--it was a nice place to spend the night. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating. She gave us the name of a great local place to eat dinner, The Pizza Parlor. It wasn't fancy, but the pizza was good and the atmosphere pleasant. The motel room was fine, but the best part was breakfast the next morning. My husband and I couldn't believe we could actually order off the menu in the cafe instead of making do with the tired buffet you usually come across.
