“Typical of cheaper hotel chains”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2009

The room was adequate, but typical of the cheaper hotel chains. We stayed almost a week and noticed that the housekeeper did as little as possible...didn't replace the empty toilet roll or empty box of tissues, or clean the moldy coffee out of the coffee maker.
As for breakfast...poor quality and very inconsistent from one day to the next, e.g. sometimes fruit, some days none. There was oatmeal in a crock pot, sometimes barely cooked, and one day the leftovers were still in the pot the next morning. There is no hot water in the breakfast room for tea drinkers, and while one can get hot water from the attached convenience store, they charge you for any size but the small cup for hot water.
On the positive side, the front desk staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful. There was also mini fridge in the room which was a real convenience.

“How much it changed!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2009

I am originally from the kingsville area and often come back to visit friends during the holidays. I used to always stay at the Rodeway because it was the nicest place in town. This last time however, it was completely different. The room I got was very dirty, still hair in the tub and stains on the counter. They had stopped having the really good breakfasts and the new food was terrible!! I asked around and discovered that the property had been sold and new managment was not keeping up as well. I really hate to see it happen, it was such a nice place!!

  • Liked — The attached convenience store and a little bar
  • Disliked — dirty rooms that weren't kept up well

“Nice traveler's motel”

We stopped here based on previous reviews, and they were right--it was a nice place to spend the night. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating. She gave us the name of a great local place to eat dinner, The Pizza Parlor. It wasn't fancy, but the pizza was good and the atmosphere pleasant. The motel room was fine, but the best part was breakfast the next morning. My husband and I couldn't believe we could actually order off the menu in the cafe instead of making do with the tired buffet you usually come across.

“Best hotel in the area”

Stopped here on business. What a pleasant surprise. Everyone was so friendly, especially the "custodian" I met on site. He was everywhere....cleaning curbs by day, tending bar at night. Terrific facilities...so nice to have the on site lounge and convenience store. The room I stayed in was called "Executive" and it was. From a personal letter from the owner with complimentary snacks and drinks....to a comfortable bed, world class showers, both high speed cable and Wi-Fi..wow..this place has it all. Pool is sparkling clean, fitness center is first rate and FREE hot breakfast in the morning? wow.
