Now granted I did not stay here in the summer when I could take advantages of the amenities, so all I can comment on are the rooms. They have old old furniture, tile floors (not very nice on bare feet) and all rooms are accessible from outside doors. (I never feel comfotable with that). In order to get to the restaurant or lobby you MUST go outside. Well it was freezing when I was here so I had to drive....really a pain.
The bed sheets are very thin and scratchy and the bed is hard. You control the temperature with a wall unit and it either runs all the time or not at all and thus the room is too hot or cold. The do not supply hand lotion or hair conditioner in the bathroom toiletries.
The tvs are small and not flat screen. There is a coffee maker in the room and the bathroom had two sinks.
I agree the front desk staff was personable,
I did have a drink in the saloon and it is old, dank and smells like smoke.
Unless you want to utilize the other amenities, I would not bother staying here as there are tons of places nearby.

We come here annually for a conference. Large, nice pool and lobby. It is older and sometimes that is a bit disappointing but otherwise nice. For several years they did not have any cable news channels except for Texas Cable News (mostly repeats of statewide local newscasts) and Fox (which isn't really news). Fortunately, a couple of years ago they added CNN so now I can keep up with what is going on in the world. The rooms are large and well built but the beds are not very comfortable. Overall, it looks impressive but only gets an average rating.

Have been staying here for about 15 years. Great restaurant and room service. Staff are always wonderful. But the rooms are getting a bit tired and worn looking and could use some updating. Other than that they are comfortable. And, they take your furry friends.

Stayed here once when it was the YO Hilton. Loved it. The Hiton name is gone now and so is the love. A bit disappointing experience this time It'juba rely meets an "ok" standard now. Room rate with thebreakfasts appeared to be a good value. However, even that was a disappointment. Will definitely stay somewhere different next time.
