The Swann Hotel is a restored 1901 Victorian wood structure hotel, that has been completely renovated with pleasing colors and comfortable period furnishings.
As you approach the front porch entrance , you notice the quaint wicker rockers and porch swing with an adorable bronze fountain as the centerpiece beckoning you to rock the afternoon away.
The rooms are very comfortable, and the full breakfast is a true gourmets delight, being a fisherman I was provided a nice sack lunch full of goodies since I was going to miss the wonderful breakfast my wife would have later in the morning. I thought this was very thoughtful of the innkeeper.
My wife enjoyed the on-site clothing and jewelry shop and also walked down to the Milam Street Art Gallery for a coffee later in the morning.
Mary and her daugthers:Scarlett and Sarah are very gracious and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this well kept secret to all our friends, thanks to the Jasper Chamber of Commerce for recommending the Swann.
It is only about 2 hours from Houston and it is minutes from Lake Sam Rayburn and Martin Dies State Park.
