Our recent trip through Dallas-Ft. Worth airport had us spend the night on our way to Chicago from Belize. We had booked the Super 8 DFW before leaving via hotels.com. When we arrived to the airport, we called up the Super 8 listed at the airport and said we had a reservation and could we have a ride to the hotel (provides complimentary airport shuttle). They agreed and we were picked up 10 minutes later. Once at Super 8, the front desk clerk who I spoke to on the phone said they had no reservations and said we must have meant the other Super 8 at DFW. He said I should have said I had a reservation on the phone.
We were frustrated but asked if we could have a ride back to the airport to get the other Super 8 shuttle (since that Super 8 wouldn't pick us up from this Super 8) - they flat out refused. We even offered to pay for the gas (the shuttle driver was still there). He refused to take us back the 10 minute drive saying we would just have to call a taxi. He wouldn't let me talk to his manager saying she isn't working now (when any overall manager should be available 24 hours a day) and says this happens all the time (so why did they pick us up then if we said we had a reservation). The only way we could get back to the airport is if someone else flew in and needed to be picked up there but they weren't expecting anyone. They had no problem with us sleeping on the dirty, dank lobby furniture instead.
We ended up calling a cab after waiting it out an hour for half the cost of what our room was at Super 8 (ridiculous).
This staff was far from friendly, far from helpful and the whole facility was dank, dirty and unpleasant. I urge no one to use this business. The other Super 8 (DFW North) is far nicer, remodeled, pleasant and wonderful service. Use them instead. Guess it goes to show the same chain does not mean the same team and they don't help each other out.
