I stayed in Hyatt hotel from 12/19 through 12/22 on a business trip. This was my first visit in this hotel and I was very pleased. I was first bit concerned with some other reviews I have seen but after coming here everything changed. Friendly stuff, great accomodation, good food choice from menu, fantastic breakfast services which can top any other services I have seen in the past. Bedding, furniture, room size were simply perfect. I will visit this same hotel next time I am in Texas.

Pick-up from airport was added convenience but about 20 minutes wait.

I'm sorry to report that my stay at the Hyatt Place in Las Colinas did not go smoothly. All was fine until I was ready to go to sleep (at that point past midnight). I brought my own pillow, so was removing the pillows from the bed when I saw two sizable stains on the sheets. Not sure whether this meant the sheets were stained but had been laundered, or whether this meant the sheets were stained from the last room occupant and had not been laundered - but either way this was upsetting.

Called the front desk, told the clerk who was sort of horrified (which seemed good). Then he said he had 1 of 2 options for me. He could either find me a different room (but had to look because the hotel was full and wasn't sure a room was available), or he could bring me a new set of sheets. But he also let me know that housekeeping was not on staff at that time of night, so he could not have housekeeping change the sheets, but he could provide me with sheets.

So I took the new room. Packed up all my stuff in 2 min, wheeled to the new room. Felt compelled to check the two double beds. Found hair in the beds - again, unsure of whether that was previous occupant hair or housekeeping hair or what have you. At this point, out of options and pretty tired - so picked the least offensive bed and went to sleep.

Anyway, you see where I'm going with this. I'm a realist and I cognitively know that when I sleep at a hotel, it's possible that the sheets haven't been changed. But to have it confirmed so clearly was a total downer.

No Hyatt Gold passport membership for me. And yes, charged for the full cost of the room.

Of the several Hyatt Place/Summerfield Suites properties clustered around DFW, this property is superior. The Hyatt Place has been spun off the Hyatt brand, and is now a franchise. I expect experiences at individual properties to become more variable as a result. In general the staff here already acknowledges more of a chain hotel vibe: less professional, less responsive to guest needs, more apathetic to personnel performance in general.
For now, this property is holding the standard it has maintained on previous visits (5 so far this year). The one key amenity offered here is complimentary transport to and from DFW. Although the room rate is a bit higher than other Hyatt Place properties in the area, the taxi fare to/from DFW overrides any cost savings. Cab fare to this property from DFW runs about $40 one way.
