I stay in Irving frequently on business, and this is my first time at this property. I've stayed in other Hyatt Place locations around the country, and this is exactly like all of the others (which is I think what they strive for). The room was everything you might want from a budget level chain hotel...spacious, clean, comfortable, well air-conditioned, and quiet. There is huge flat screen TV; and a large seating are with a couch, working desk, wet bar, and small fridge. Breakfast is free and served in the lobby in the mornings, and there is a small bar if you want to enjoy a cocktail or 2 in the evenings. Location is close to DFW and Love Field, and is convenient to all shopping and restaurants on MacArthur Blvd.
Two suggestions...1) If you are traveling with the family and like Hyatt properties, the nearby Summerfiled Suites might be a better choice (see my review). 2) Avoid the Bennigan's restaurant which is built on a pad site out front of the hotel. The food is the usual fried-everything, and you will smell like an ash tray when you leave. When is Texas going to ban smoking in bars and restaurants?
