What a nice surprise this hotel was for us! Having never been to Dallas, we not quite sure what we had reserved when we booked this hotel. WOW..... what a nice surprise. Everything was exceptionally top notch and hi-end! We were delighted and sad to leave when the time came.

Room Tip: We use our AARP to get a fabulous king size room.

“Five Years of Consistent Excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2011

My first stay at the Hampton-Irving/Las Colinas was five years ago when my daughter was on a college recruiting visit to the University of Dallas. My most recent visit was a 5-night stay to attend the graduation ceremonies. During each of my several visits in the past five years, the Irving/Las Colinas Hampton has been an excellent place to stay.

The overall hotel appearance is well-maintained. I have not seen any signs of wear or damage, either in the common areas or in the individual rooms.

Cleanliness is important to me. Housekeeping does an excellent job. The blankets, linens, towels and pillows have always been spotless. Upon my arrival inspection, I have not found any residual water spots on the bathroom basin, or on the bathroom floor. Nor have I found any water rings on the nightstands. I’ve never encountered any pests.

The breakfast area offers the typical Hampton fare. It, too, is kept clean and comfortable. There is an outdoor pool and an exercise room that I have intended to use, but somehow never quite had the time. The management and the staff have always been friendly, helpful and accommodating. I’ve never had any problems with my reservations or with billing

The hotel is located in a VERY nice area of Irving, near Hwy 114 and MacArthur Blvd. It is quick 5 minute drive from U of Dallas via 114. It is near drug stores and fast food restaurants. Going north on MacArthur for less than 3 miles one finds a variety of restaurants and shopping for every student’s needs: Kroger, Walmart Supercenter, Target, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Office Depot, Home Depot, etc. Love Airport is only 10 miles away, too.

“Bed big alert!!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2010

Stayed here for business reasons and close to my Corporate home base. First nite saw bugs and called front desk and they told me that 'they had sprayed" but they were coming through the window AC. I was on the first floor. They ensured that they weren't bed bugs though!
Not only that, the sheets were stained.. YUCK!!!I

I moved the next day to Hilton Garden Inn. But it wasn't quick enough to have not brought home bedbugs with me... 3 weeks later and I've found two in my house. I'm extremely upset and disgusted...

Mind you, I'm a Diamond member and stay at the HIlton hotel chain more than I am home. I've logged over 500,000 pts in the last 2 yrs...

Their response? they comped the room! nothing more... Oh wait, they offered me a 15 buck gift card to starbucks.. I don't drink coffee!

Do not stay! Now i'm looking into getting rid of them in my own house. I've seen two in the last 3 weeks. Totally disgusted!!

Long time HIlton Diamond member...

“Typical Hampton - Good Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2010

I stayed at this location for one night while traveling for business.

The location was easily found by my GPS and the hotel an area set back off the freeway, so I did not experience freeway or other surrounding noise inside the hotel. There is plenty of parking near the hotel. Check in was quick and easy. There is a nicely decorated, inviting lobby with a small front desk and nicely appointed common area. (Breakfast area) They have coffee and tea available 24 hours a day, had cookies available in the evening.

The hotel has a small with several pieces of cardio equipment, (all including TV's), a weight system, and other equipment. There is outdoor pool and sunning area. They do not really have a business center but have one computer and printer in the lobby. The hotel has free internet access for guests and I found it to be rather slow, even for hotel service but got the job done.

The rooms are typically decorated, and comfortable. The beds acceptable. They have old style CRT TV's with sufficient channels. The climate control works well but unfortunately you can not leave the blower motor on for white noise while the climate control is still functioning. Bathrooms are well equipped with plenty of storage and counter space. There is a tub / shower comb. The room had no discernable noice from nearby rooms. Room included a work desk (though you could not see the TV from the desk), microwave, fridge, and couch. Oddly, the plugs on the desk turn off when you turn off the light. (be careful if you want to charge your phone or laptop overnight!) Everything was very clean.

The area has many types of dining options nearby, within a couple of miles away but nothing in easy walking distance.

The breakfast area had plenty of seating in the morning. Typical Hampton breakfast, the day I stayed it was omelets, Sausage links, french toast sticks, pastries, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. They had the "on the run bags: with an apple, muffin, cereal bar, water, and mints.

The staff was cordial. I would stay here again.
