“Good, Clean, Friendly but a few important suggestions.”

This is a clean, nice, well-located hotel in Dallas. The experience was good but a few things could be improved on.

1) for guests arriving late their MUST be some food or snack options... something. This hotel had zero options -- not even food vending machines. The last thing a hungry health conscious traveller wants to hear when he arrives at a hotel at 11:45pm is "Dominos will deliver until 12." (interestingly other Marriott brands are great at this)

2) because tap water from different locales can mess with a travelers system, their should be water available at the front desk--charge me for it if you want, (although lots of hotels are giving it away) but it must be readily available.. I did not ask for it but did not see any available. I don't want to drink your tap water.

3) once I accepted no food and water as my plight, I made my way to the drink vending machine.... WHICH DIDN'T TAKE BILLS! Are you kidding me? Nobody carries change anymore. Please require your vending machine vendor to upgrade the machines to take bills.

Its the little things take you from good to great.

“Fantastic Property!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We just returned from the 2012 Cotton Bowl Classic enjoying the Arkansas Razorbacks win. We chose this property for the first time while visiting the Dallas area and very happy to report that you could enjoy the same. First, the dependable Marriott service was right there. It's location is close to Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, close to DFW and close to Addison or Galleria area if you have those places in mind to vist.

Check in was a breeze being a Marriot Rewards member, upgrade given and a wonderful stay was next. The concierge lounge was nice; good evening snacks and a very nice light breakfast on Friday. Saturday breakfast buffet was very nice. Nice workout facility, pool and hot tub needed fine tuning, and it was done immediately.
Self parking is available or valet if you prefer.

In the fall if we play in Jerry World again, I'll be sure to bring my golf clubs since several courses are close by.

Nice dining options are close by if you wish to dine off property and you do not have to drive far. We enjoyed Champs sports bar for a beverage and a wrap. Steaks, Mexican, sushi and others right nearby.

Very easy to get to the stadium using Collins (industrial Blvd) off Hwy 183 and avoiding the congestion of Hwy 360 that many use in the area.

Daily rate can be pricey but shop for specials.

Room Tip: Join Marriott Rewards or better yet, let me refer you and I'll get bonus points as well. With yo...

“Visit to Dallas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

My wife and I stayed here twicw over the Thanksgiving period and were very impressed. This is definitely not a hotel for tourists but they have a pool and are well located for the airport. If your in Dallas you have to have a car so location is not that important.
Breakfast was excellent and the rooms were large with a beautiful lake view.
The staff were very attentive.

“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Location was perfect for my trip. Love the flowers in lobby during one day of my stay, wish they did it everyday. Parking was too far from entry but ok.
Staff helped with local attractions and finding a dry cleaner.

“Rental car required!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

The hotel in and of itself is good, but its location leaves lots to be desired.

Rooms - very nice, up to date. spacious bathrooms with tons of counter space, bathrobes. Flatscreen TV, desk area, ironing board, free coffee & tea. I asked for a complimentary refrigerator on my reservation and extra pillows, and was pleased that my requests were fulfilled. Housekeeping was excellent and turn down service for my 5 night stay included a variety of chocolates.

Check in - I arrived at 5:30am and they were very accommodating. I even had unexpected housekeeping on that day.

Gift shop - very very tiny, but all of the essentials were there.

Parking - Valet parking available, but save a few bucks and park it yourself! The structure is but a few steps away from the lobby!

Food - Hence my "average" rating.....the restaurant is obviously not accustomed to large groups as staff was very flustered when our meetings let out and packed the restaurant. There is a very reasonable dinner buffet for about $14 - includes greens, one hot veggie, bread & one entree (chicken on both ocassions I dined there). The restaurant also closes at 10pm! Then you are stranded in the middle of nowhere if you don't have a car. Cab rides are not cheap.... plan on spending at least $20 to get anywhere else. It would be nice if the hotel had a free shuttle to local shopping centers where you could grab a bite or stop at the drugstore. We walked about half a mile to a sportsbar for a late night snack. Not a whole lot of foot traffic in the area, so if you're squeamish about walking alone at night, then skip it.

Be advised that while it is only half a mile away from the convention center, that there is no sidewalk for most of the walk. Definitely no high heels allowed here! The grass/clay requires athletic shoes.....

There is a man made lake - Lake Carolyn - adjacent to the hotel. Nice path for walking next to the Lake. You can cut through the building across from the Lake to visit the Mustang exhibit.

One of our cab drivers told us that about half a dozen eateries closed down when the economy went sour. I would likely not return here until such eateries reopen, unless I have a car.
