So ok this hotel is a tad unique with its uber trendy style, but that is its point. Such a cool and contemporary vibe in this hotel and the staff are fantastic, they could not be more helpful. The bar staff were ace and I would recommend the spicey chilli wings.

I first stayed at the NYLO when it first opened a few years ago (2009) and was less than impressed. I travel to this area 4-6 times a year and usually stay at other hotels but was 'forced' to stay here again due to some meetings that were held at the hotel. While many of the service issues I experienced in '09 have been corrected, the front desk has never figured out what rates include breakfast and what rates don't. The desk agents seem to make up the rules as they go. The hotel itself is what I have described as a college architect student's "capstone project". - Some interesting design/space ideas poorly and cheaply executed. Then passed off has 'hip' Hotel rooms in downtown NY Times square have more space and the quality of the workmanship of furniture and fixtures is on par with a weekend handyman's efforts. It would be hip if I were staying in a rehab'd warehouse in a remote South American Village, not a newly constructed building (that would have been better suited for self storage units). Stay here if you can get it for $75/night or less. Otherwise there are better options in town.

The room was fabulous. The front desk girl recommended a great restaurant "the keg" where we were taken care of. Just a great overall experience.

We were supposed to stay two nights but checked out after one because we were less than impressed. Had a huge issue at checkin regarding our reservation. We reserved a suite but opted for an upgrade to the Skyline suite for $48 more a night if it was available at checkin. This was an option when the reservation was made online however, the front desk person and manager claimed they knew nothing about this kind of offer.

Overall we found the service very questionable. They closed the bar early Friday night because they told us they were only at 28% occupancy so they kicked everybody out. We had just returned fro the Cotton Bowl game and knew quite a few people would be right behind us but they didn't care.

Room was odd and I realized I don't like the loft feel. It felt very Ikea and the ceiling looked moldy. I'm sure it wasn't but that's what I thought of when I looked at it.
