“Disgusting pool party”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2012

My wife and I checked in for a three night stay ($1,500) to find a Saturday afternoon/evening pool party with literally 500-600 people, some drinking and smoking in the pool. (I was told that each hotel guest could bring three friends to the party) Dumping cans of beer that were soon replaced by the " attentive" staff.
Checking out, I was asked "How was your stay." I responded "lousy". He responded "ok" I pointed out his reply. He replied, "I didn't hear you." To me, he wasn't listening or interested. He said the manager would call me the next day. The day manager was in a meeting and not available. (Sunday morning at 8:30) Two days later - no call yet!!!! I'll call FS corporate tomorrow. More later

Dear Peter K,

Thank you again for your feedback. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak with you personally and perfectly understand your sentiment and frustration. My most sincere apologies again for the shortfall in follow up and for not living up to your expectations.

As I mentioned, we just hosted the HP Byron Nelson Championship Golf tournament and the Resort looks and feels very different during that time. As a seasoned used of Four Seasons, you know what to expect, and this is a week where the Resort is truly different.

Thank you for your patience and I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to the Resort.

Best regards,

Patrick Pollak

“A Very Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2012

Great hotel overall. Stay here for an evening on a business trip so I did not have a chance to try out most of the amenities. Restaurant was excellent though expensive. Room is big and nicely decorated with almost everything you may need. A very comfortable bed and a small balcony which overlook the golf course. Too bad I could not stay longer.

I took the rating down a notch since you have to pay for Wifi.

“Decent stay! But, this hotel has major staff communication and management issues.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2012

We just returned from our 3 day mini-vacation at The Four Seasons - Las Colinas resort in Dallas, Texas between 5/17-5/19. First, the good.

Room was clean and equipped with everything one would expect to have at a resort of this caliber (swanky bath robes, nice shower/tub, wood crafted anwar, etc...) We had an incredible view of the 18th green from our furnished balcony. Be sure to request a corner room w/ full balcony if you decide to book this resort. We saw other guests who dropped $300+ for a room sitting on the concrete floor of their balcony. We also witnessed several guests schlepping their inside furniture out to the balcony to enjoy the beautiful views of the golf course and homes surrounding this pristine and finely manicured resort. The staff, for the most part, were polite and appeared to want to be helpful. However, this is what brings me to the bad at this resort. 4 words- poor service and management.

One hand has no clue what the other is doing at this property. It starts when you pull up to the valet/ bell stand. The reservation manager informed us that complimentary self-park was included with our room. However, a 4 seasons valet person told me that I had to pay for self- park. Then, another valet person stated,"No, sir. Your self park is included with your stay." Which is it?

Then, you go to the check-in desk. Our check-in person had no idea that we had pre-paid for our 2 night stay. She even tried to charge my credit card after I told her the reservation manager had processed our payment the night before. She had no idea about any of this. Also, the reservation manager never sent us a confirmation email as promised.

I could go on forever citing several examples of the lack of communication between staff and management at this resort. However, I think you get the point.

Finally, though they attempt to "fix" their mistakes by comping meals and sending elegant dessert dishes to your room, their generosity verges on patronage. For example, I asked for 3-4 cold beers that I requested be sent to the golf course so I could enjoy them while my wife and I played golf. They ended up sending 12 beers which would had been fine. However, we got them 2 hours later on the 13th hole! If you order a bacon/cheeseburger and they forget to put the bacon on your sandwich- they will send out 5 lbs of bacon with an elegant "I'm sorry" card 30 minutes after you have finished your meal! I suggested they simply address the mistake, remediate it, follow up with the client and let them know what they should expect for the remainder of their stay.

In summary, this resort often offers specials ($225/night golf pakages, etc...). I would suggest booking this resort only while they offer these nice specials unless your company is flipping the tab. In that case, who cares, right? You will be ok with any type of service you get, because it free! This resort, like many others, seems to have fallen victim to corporate clients who would never pay $1200 for a 2 night stay if the cash was coming out of their own personal checking account. We've seen it happen to 1st class air travel, now it has even ruined my once beloved FOUR SEASONS! We miss you FOUR SEASONS! Please come back...

Room Tip: Book a corner room w/ full balcony unlesss you enjoy sitting on concrete floors. Do not make special...

“Food - Mother's Day Brunch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2012

Well, my family and I had a not so great experience at The Four Season's brunch for Mother's Day. After frequenting the brunch on numerous occasions in the past, including Father's Day, we were not informed that there was a special pricing of $70 for brunch, which is normally $45. Not only was the brunch $70, but did not include mimosas as they normally do for brunch. The pastry chef offered me some chocolate cookies and I stated I would take them home. The hostess came back and said they would charge us for the chocolate chip cookies and I then said "no, thanks.". About 10 minutes later, the hostess came back and said they would give us a cookie.

I contacted the manager on Monday and after playing phone tag all day, I was finally told I could come to the hotel for lunch after I told the manager I live in another city. The complaint I had for the pricing and not being told ahead of time was not addressed and fell on deaf ears.

I am quite disappointed with the Four Seasons and feel that they took advantage of Mother's Day and did not give us the value for our dollars. We could have easily gone to another brunch for $50 that was more expansive and included mimosas. The quality and value did not give us an elite experience.

“Class all the way!”

Traveling with a friend for her birthday. Saw this property on line and thought it was out of our price range. As it turned out, we booked a room very affordable. It had twin beds, which was fine with us. I was expecting a small, not so great room. I could not have been more wrong. The bathroom was huge, and the room was very comfortable, with a view of the golf course. It was perfect!
