“Flunks the "clean and everything works as it should" test”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Let's start with the good: Attractive lobby. Fast checkin. Nice flat screen TV in room. Comfortable bed. That's about it. First problem with our room: it had a musty smell. That got worse as their is no way to get fresh air (windows don't open) and there's no ventilation fan in the bathroom (which had some mold in the shower and a less than clean tub). Room lighting was poor, Want internet? $10 a day. Chintzy plastic glasses for drinking. Even the pen was chintzy! Want to plug in a laptop? Plan on moving furniture to get to a power strip on the floor (no outlets at desk). No fridge or microwave in room. You can sure tell when the person in the next room is using the toilet or shower. And there's lots of road noise. We had an SPG floor room so I wonder if others are worse.

Room Tip: Try the Element nearby.

“Beautiful hotel especially for the airport area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

I was very impressed upon entering this hotel. The lobby was set out quite nicely, check in was quick and we received a steal of a deal on the room through Hotwire. I'm a club member, so we were given the 10th floor for Starwood members.
Rooms are just as shown in the professional pics. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, bathroom amenities were great, and the staff was quick to send a whole set of towels, when I requested one extra!
We would definitely stay here again, too bad this stay was so short!

Room Tip: 10th floor was great

“Great Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

My family and I stayed at the DFW Sheraton on December 16-18, 2011. I had some problems on the road so, I checked in really late/early(4:30am). The hotel representative was really attentive to my needs and check-in was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were great. I needed a crib for my 11 month old and the one was placed in my room. This hotel has the best cribs of any place we have visited.

The lounge on this property is great. It was family friendly and the service was great. My wife really loved the french fries, but complained that the cheesecake was too small :).

Overall, my stay at this location was very enjoyable. This was a great value. I would definitely recommend this location for business or leisure travel.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the airport. We enjoyed watching the planes take off and land.

“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

My first stay at the DFW Sheraton was in March 2011, and this is my second stay the first week of December 2011. I stayed at this hotel to attend a professional seminar. From the DFW airport, there’s a complimentary shuttle that will take you to the hotel. Make sure you have the hotel phone number handy or in your cell phone so you can call for the shuttle and let them know where you’re located. Go downstairs to the lower level where all the shuttles are. The wait was about 15 minutes. Check-in was easy; there was no line.

Because I was there for an event, I paid a special rate of $99 per night. The room I stayed in was a traditional 300 square foot room with two double beds, a night stand with three drawers, a flat screen TV on top of a dresser with three drawers, a desk, two arm chairs and a small round table with an ice chest and two complimentary bottled waters. On top of the desk is a desk light, pad of paper and pen, an area to put your laptop, and a coffee/tea maker. There’s Starbucks coffee (Africa Kitamu and Decaf Fair Trade Blend) and a couple of Tazo teas (Earl Gray and Wild Sweet Orange.) They offer high speed internet for $9.95 per day. Although downstairs in the lobby, there are four computers with wi-fi that are free for you to use. There’s also a printer.

In the bathroom, there’s a hairdryer, tissue box, and wrapped plastic cups. Toiletries include: Shine brand shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, two soaps – Mandarin & Mint. There’s also a small packet with 2 cotton balls, 2 cotton swabs, and a small nail file.
In the closet, there’s an iron, ironing board, about ten wooden hangers, and a luggage rack; there’s no safe.

The beds are really comfortable, with four pillows and a super soft comforter.

The hotel offers a “green” choice – you receive a $5 voucher or 500 SPG Starpoints awarded at checkout for each night you decline housekeeping services (except day of departure.) To participate, you must hang the green choice card on your door before 2:00am. You can use the $5 voucher any place at the hotel, such as the restaurant, coffee shop, or convenient store.

On Saturday night, I ate at the hotel restaurant ONE. The dinner buffet was $14.95, which included salad, fresh fruit, pasta salad, rice pilaf, mashed potatoes (which was amazing), fried chicken, steak, dinner rolls, and fruit cobbler for dessert. You can get a $25 gift certificate at Restaurant.com

If you have a roommate, you can split the cost of the room on two separate credit cards, and you can also use both of your SPG Starpoint membership cards, so both of you will get credit.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the DFW Sheraton, and would stay here again.

“Not your posh Sheraton you might be used to”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

I will say the staff was awesome and were hospitable at every possible moment. We needed to switch rooms because there was a creaking noise in our room. So the staff was great. The hotel itself wasn't all that great looking... and the location, although close to DFW, isn't super ideal. But... since it's close to DFW it makes it easy to find if you get lost driving on the crazy freeways in Dallas/Ft Worth.
