Just left the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life.
The WINDATE from WYNDHAM at 8220 Esters Blvd in Dallas Texas started out bad and went downhill from there. You simply cannot make this stuff up!
My general manager and I are out of town on important business.
As we walked into the hotel to check in, we discovered the main lobby air conditioning was out and it was 100 degrees. We had no interest in sitting in a lobby / sauna to enjoy the complementary happy hour. We checked into our room to find our refrigerator not working. Sense we had beverages we wanted to keep cool; we were forced to ice our drinks down in the bathroom sink.
My general manager and I both went to check out the workout room for the next morning’s workout. The treadmill main deck was crushed through and when I stood on it, I almost fell off of the treadmill. This is a complete safety violation and I am at a complete loss as to why the hotel chain would allow such a blatant disregard for it guest.
Back at the room, room #125, we settled in for the night. The carpet was filthy as was the furniture. These were things we noticed as the night went on. It reminded me of an old limousine that a 1000 prom dates had partied in and spilled stuffs everywhere.
In the middle of the night, our room air conditioner went out and when we went to take our morning showers, there was mold on the tiling in the bath tub.
We complained the next day and the travel arrangers were able to work out an “UPGRADE”.
This hotels idea of an upgrade was to have us relocate to a room with a SINGLE BED. A single bed and a roll out for the two of us. All of this was going on at the end of a very stressful day of business. Long story short, at the end of the day, at 5:30pm, we packed our things from the room where the refrigerator was still not fixed, walked through the 100 degree lobby where the air conditioner was STILL NOT FIXED and went to the Holiday Inn Express where I write this.
This place should be closed down until someone who knows how to run it is put in place. The room was a wreck, the lobby a heated sauna, the workout room dangerous and the service, from the General manager Sanjay Varma impossible to deal with.
I stay at over 20 hotels a year and I will never stay at a WINGATE from WYNDHAM ever. Nor will I recommend this or any of the hotels under either of these banners to any of my fellow travelers. I will also find and post this message to every single web site I can in order to get the word out that this hotel is horrible and does not have a single interest in their guest safety or comfort.
