i stay in Marriott or Courtyard Hotels almost exclusively for business travel. Sometimes I find Courtyard to be more comfortable and better taken care of than the standard Marriott. i just ran into one exception.
Maybe it was the 111 degree heat but my room never got below 76 degrees even with the air conditioning turned down to 60 degrees. Others in my party had no problems in their rooms.
Remember the nice little cafes that Courtyard's used to have with great breakfast buffets where people from the community would come in and actually have breakfast too? Well those days are gone with the ridiculous new set up the have in the morning which involves standing in line (a long line) in the lobby to get your order taken, and than waiting 40 minutes for cereral and bagels. Needless to say, after the first morning fiasco, there was NO ONE including me and my party having breakfast there the following days. Whoever advised Marrott that business travelers would rather stand in line and then wait for breakfast needs to have their head examined. And the new tables and booths are completely uncomfortable.
And last but not least, pillows. I need foam pillows in my room. It is marked on my record and I ask for them when i check in because they are never already in the rooms. This visit after 3 requests for foam pillows I gave up. The pillows in the room were horrible, if you put the 5 or 6 together you might have one pillow that was sleepable.
Will never stay her again.
