I told the receptionist at Roddy Tree Ranch that we would be driving in from Dallas and would be arriving late. When we got there, a key was in the box along with a map that was so old and worn out that it was illegble. The cabins are stread out over the ranch and there are no road markings. I was reduced to stopping at a cabin with the lights on and knocking on the door at 11:00 at night.... not a very comfortable thing to do.
After getting instructions, I located my cabin and guess what.... it wasn't a cabin at all but a mobile home with a built on front porch. 400 sq ft max!
The employees were nice but painfully unable to help. I never met the owners in the three days that I was there.
There are many very nice retreats in the hill country. I wouldn't include Roddy Tree Ranch among them!
