“Nice hotel, spotless, comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I stayed here for business, it was comfortable once they got the air conditioning in my room working. Seems it is an older system and they have to physically turn the valve for heat or air conditioning which is located in the ceiling in the bathroom. They were quick to respond to my complaint and the room cooled down quickly. It was quiet, I felt totally safe (as a woman traveling alone) and comfortable, the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating. It was conveniently located for my business appointments, although traffic in Houston is quite heavy. I did not visit the bars, but they have two, one in the lobby and one just outside the Rio Ranch. I'll stay here next time I'm in Houston based on this experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators, there was a problem with the elevator and the noise was some...

“Good for business”

This is your average business class hotel. The room deco is older as you will find in most Hilton Hotels, they are in the process of remodeling the lobby and downstairs hallways, working on the elevators which causes long waits in the morning and evenings, esp if you are on one of the top floors. Breakfast in the PH lounge is OK, evening snacks are also just OK, have had much better at other Hiltons. The Rio is a great place to eat if you don't want to leave the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators, as they are old and noisy.

“Has its positives and negatives”

The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from a major shopping area, and has plenty of restaurants right across the street at a mini-mal. There is also a great Irish Bar in this same mini mall. Hotel rooms are very nice, but the smoke/heat sensors are about 1 ft from the bathroom doors. As a result, if someone leaves the bathroom door open whilst showering, the fire alarms go off and everyone is evacuated!! I know, it happened twice in the space of one week whilst I was there, once at 11pm! The fire man told me that it happens all the time at the hotel, and is surprised they have never done anything about it. The hotel redeems itself however by its breakfast! Fresh Omelettes, waffles, French toast! Huge selection of fresh fruits, berry sauces, whip cream and cooked items (hasbrowns, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon etc etc). Be wary of asking for a coffee and juice, as its one or the other I was told! Lastly, the hotels pool had a light floating around in it which was still on and connected. When I told maintenance, they went to take a look at it 10 minutes later, and just pushed it back into its hole in the pool, not securing it. The next day when going for a swim, it was floating around the pool again....so safety standards are a bit poor you could say at this hotel.

“Great Place to stay in Houston!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

I travel to Houston frequently on business, and I always enjoy my stay at Hilton Westchase. The Hilton is convenient to Westhiemer Road, which has a lot of places to eat. There is an Outback, Chili’s, Starbucks, and a few other restaurants in the complex across the street, so it’s an easy walk to any of these. On the back side of the property, there is a Kroger, so you can pick up a variety of items in the grocery store. On the property, there is a Rio Ranch restaurant, which has a nice bar and good food. There is plenty of parking, which doesn’t cost extra. The Hilton has a club on the top floor, so Hilton Honors Status members can grab a light breakfast or evening snack. They have a nice pool, and the fitness center is good, but it is small. Overall, it’s a great place to stay in Houston.

“Great service, decent rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011 via mobile

The staff here are very attentive, knowledgable of surrounding area and hospitable. They have a complimentary shuttle that will pick you up or drop you off within 5 miles of the hotel. I came to Houston for a conference and the hotel was very helpful in making sure that I got there on time and the driver gave me his card allowing to contact him when I was ready to be picked up -- the service is exceptional. The restaurant also has decent food and is asthetically pleasing (big fireplace, exposed wooden planks, full bar, southwestern appeal). If there's anything negative to say it would be the low shower pressure and the water taking a minute to warm up - a little disappointing on a cold day. Additionally, I found the rooms to be a little pricey for what you get. Overall, the friendly service makes staying at the hotel a pleasure. I would recommend this location.

We appreciate the time to comment on your recent trip to Houston and our hotel. We take tremendous pride in our staff and the service they provide. I will personally see what room you were in and get with our engineering staff to see about the water pressure. We invite you to stay with us again. Thank you.
