I was here for one night while visiting the medical center. The med center has a few hotels on site but this hotel is about 5 minutes away and is far cheaper (and has a free shuttle service to the med center).

When I first arrived in the room I was surprised at how big the room was. Maybe it's a Texas thing, but this room was way bigger than I imagined it'd be. There was a seperate kitchenette, a "living room" area of sorts with a couch, and a bedroom with a TV and a full bathroom. Everything was clean and fully stocked. They have open access wifi that is actually pretty fast. It's located in a pretty nice neighborhood and I had no problems getting sleep that night. The shuttle service is convenient and runs on the hour. They provide a typical continental breakfast in the morning.

I travel quite a bit and was very happy with my experience here. I recommended it to the program I was visiting at the medical center so that they could email future visitors about staying here and saving some money.

I am not a picky traveler, but this place is exceptionally bad. The room was dirty and smelled of old people. The furniture was antiquated. Even with the shades open, it was dark and depressing. The beds were uncomfortable and the sheets were poor in quality. The air conditioning unit was on the wall opposite the window and was incredibly noisy. It blew air right in your face as you attempted to sleep, which was no small feat considering the noise. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful; we were treated as if our presence at the motel was a nuissance.

The allure is the location combined with the seemingly reasonable price. In retrospect, I would have preferred to stay miles away and had a decent night's sleep. If you are paying more than $30/night to stay here, you are getting ripped off.

This hotel is steps away from the Texas Medical Centre. The area is pretty good, with a CVS pharmacy and some restaurants nearby. About 5 or 6 blocks directly north is the university town area, which is a great place to go at night for shopping, to hang out or eat at restaurants. You can't miss it.

The room was pretty big, with the amenities we expected. The kitchen area had a small table and microwave, and there was also a couch by the front door.

There is free parking at the hotel, and breakfast in the morning which includes muffins, danishes, and cereal.

There are bus stops outside along the main street. I believe the buses come about every half hour. Walking east about a kilometre along the main street will get you to the metro rail line, which you can take to go downtown.

You can also take the buses to the Johnson space centre for only a few dollars. The trip time is about 2 hours each way, with one transfer point.

For those who need to drive, there are 2 car rental places nearby outside on the main street.

This was a simple, no frills motel. Nothing elaborate, but the room was clean and comfortable. It included a small kitchen on the side, with a microwave and small fridge.

Location wise, the neighbourhood is fine being the Medical Center district. Access to downtown is quite easy, as the Metrorail station is only a 5 minute walk away. There is also a bus stop right across the street, which can take you to places such as the Johnson Space Center via transfer onto a 2nd bus (although the rides are over 1 hour long).

The staff was fine. When leaving I actually left a shirt behind, but after contacting the motel again they were able to mail it back to me and only charged for the postage (no service charges).
