“Wouldn't be my first choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I stayed here recently for a CEU course which was also held at the hotel. The hotel was clean, the bed was decent, the television was nice, water pressure was good, and parking was easy. But...water temperature wasn't very hot (just warm in my opinion), the air conditioner made a loud noise (as though someone were kicking around inside) a few times every hour, there were no convenient electrical outlets to keep your phone on the nightstand, and the mini-fridge did not work properly.

Additionally, as a Starwoods gold member, my check-in information stated check-out was at 4 p.m. We called to confirm on the check-out day and were told that we had to check-out by 3 p.m. which was ok with us. However, our room keys were deactivated before 3 p.m. locking us out of our room. So, if you stay here as a Starwoods member, confirm your check-out time as it may not match your check-in information and be aware that you may be locked out of your room early at some point on your check-out day.

One more thing...this hotel is convenient to the airport but not much else. If you're visiting Houston for fun, this hotel's location would be a poor choice in my opinion.

“Great service, comfy bed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel for several nights while on a business trip.
My room was huge with two Queen-sized beds. The bed was soo comfy with lovely pillows that I just sank into. Make a change from the usual soft lumpy beds you get in hotels. The room was a little tired and the desk kind of worn but it wasn't too bad. The bathroom was also a bit old and rundown looking. My only real problem with the room was that it had an adjoining door to the room next door and I could hear absolutely everything that was going on - the TV, a mobile phone ringing, talking etc etc. Thankfully I was so exhausted from my days at work that I still managed to sleep.
In room WIFI is $10/day. Although this isn't expensive, I don't understand why some hotels still insist on charging for wifi given that more and more offer this service for free.
Breakfast was delicious and offered a wide range of choices, the rates for the breakfast varied depending on what you had. My fruit, yoghurt and pastries cost me $10.
Service was fantastic and there was even a shuttle bus that would take you to the nearby office.
I didn't get any time to try out the pool or fitness area but they both looked decent.
I would definitely stay here again.

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel with my family prior to leaving on a cruise from Galveston, TX. This hotel is close to the airport, and about a $40 USD cab ride to downtown Houston/ the Galleria Mall. If you are just planning on staying close to the airport prior to going on business trips/ perhaps an airport transfer to the Ship terminal, it's great. However, if you are looking for something close to downtown this is quite far. The beds are very comfortable, rooms are spotless, and the service is great. We ordered room service and quite enjoyed it.

“no shower head or hot water”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Two mornings in a row I tried to take an early hot shower. It seems that they "turn on the back-up boiler" around 6 am. Don't try to take a shower before then. Hot water all day. I am sure there is a huge cost savings for them, but they should let you know.

“Good service and nice proximity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

The Sheraton G.B. Airport is a nice hotel located very close to the airport. We were there for a conference and they treated us well. We did have some issues with getting the proper rate, but the hotel corrected for this before we checked out. We had two catered dinners while there as well as lunch and breakfast. They did a good job with all of these - the best was bbq brisket which was done in the Texas style and was good for hotel food.

The rooms were nice and comfortable and the hotel staff provides good service.

I drove to the hotel, but their shuttle was praised by those in the meeting.

I would stay there again if visiting the area.

Room Tip: 9th and 10th floors are executive areas with access to a free breakfast on the 10th floor.
