Our high school class held its reunion at this hotel recently. The ratings provided by Trip Advisor don't really address the important things for large group activities--but I think it is important to let people know about the hotel and how they handle such things. It is a mixed bag. I'll start with the good things. By the time of the reunion, and during the reunion, all went very well. Our group was pleased enough with the room arrangements, the food, the quantity of food, etc. I stayed at the hotel the night of the reunion, and I was generally pleased with my room, the group rate they set for us, customer service of the desk staff, etc. I would think that a normal room rental for a normal overnight stay at this hotel would be quite satisfactory.

The bad part was the person who handled our contract, the contract negotiations, and details afterwards. She was undependable, unresponsive, showed lack of concern, showed lack of respect, didn't return calls, didn't respond to emails, and finally a member of our committee had to threaten to report things up the corporate ladder to get things done right. We hung in there with this hotel because the location was good, the price was good, we have used it before, but by the time of the reunion, those who had to work with this woman had really had enough. Her lack of customer service skills and her lack of concern for our group and its needs were deplorable.

In five years when our group will have another large reunion, we will likely look far and wide to find another location, especially if this woman is still hired as the event planner. She really made the process negative, tense, problematic, etc. Fortunately, after all was said and done, we were pleased that the reunion went well and as far as I know the 250+ participants had a good time. I heard no complaints about anything once we got there.

If I could rate our experience with the event planner, it would be a "no-star" rating. If I could rate our experience without the event planner, it would be a 4 or 4.5 star rating.
