Because Houston can be chilly in January, we specifically looked for a hotel with an indoor pool. While the pool as nice, the pool area was freezing. It was like we were swimming outside making it very uncomfortable for the kids.

Check in line was long but they added more staff. Rooms are small but nicely decorated. Bathrooms border on closet size. Customer service really non-existent except for valet staff who seemed to be the only people glad to see us.

My husband and I stayed at the Houston West Loop Marriott last weekend for business/pleasure. We stayed in an executive room with conceirge privledges. Here are the highlights of the hotel:
1. The location is pretty ideal. It's in the Galleria area but about a mile away from the mall. It's close enough to the hospitals and downtown but still in a very "hopping" part of town. The downside to the location is that you cannot really walk anywhere. You really need a car. ( I think that is the case with most hotels in Houston).
2. The front desk staff were very professional and helpful. Check in was a breeze!
3. Our room was a very standard Marriott room. Very clean!
4. I accidentally spilled a drink on the bed and when I notified housekeeping, they can up to the room immediately and fixed the situation. They were incredibly nice and prompt.
5. The conceirge level was great-- beautiful view of the city, two computers with printers and complimentary coffee and drinks at all times.
6. We had the breakfast and it was DELICIOUS! Made to order omlets, smoothies, fresh fruit, etc.

Bottom line: Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The hotel is probably more ideal for business travelers versus a romantic getaway

I travel often for work and usually stay with the Marriott brand. This was one of the best experiences I've had with a Marriott. The staff was incredible throughout my 4 day stay, from check in to check out. I also rented conference space and the staff was wonderful and very accommodating.

I'm a Silver rewards member and was upgraded to concierge level. This has never happened at other locations I've stayed at and it was a wonderful added touch which made me feel my business was appreciated.

Appearance wise the hotel public areas along with my room were spotless. The decor was modern and clean. This Marriott should be an example to others.
