Yes, the furniture in my room showed its age. Yes, the vile yellow exterior paint is flaking off the room doors. Yes, the continental breakfast is more or less standard prepackaged stuff. However, my room was spacious, it was squeaky-clean, it had a microwave and refrigerator, the bathroom was kept liberally supplied with towelling and the reclining chair, though battered, was almost sinfully comfortable, as was the king bed. The price ($65.00/night) was more than reasonable. There are plenty of restaurants a little further down the Katy Freeway access road for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I only have a few minor complaints. The toilet would noisily refill every couple of hours. The selection of TV channels is somewhat limited (25 or so, compared to the 60+ a place like a Microtel will have). LaQuinta continues to offer only Styrofoam cups for both coffee and drinking, which make the Scotch taste funny.

We stayed in this hotel for a night last week. The rate was quite reasonable. this is not an upscale hotel, but it is certainly not a flophouse. It is nicely appointed in an excellent location. The staff were all quite helpful and the room was spotless. we have NO complaints whatsoever.

the best thing about this hotel is the chinese restaurant that resides in the old la quinta food facility before the new owners let the property go to hell...when a hotelier group lets a property go to "private" investors"...and families take up residence IN the hotel...we all know what i mean...it almost universally degrades the service and property...this is NOT owned by LQ...and staying in their rooms is becoming a crapshoot...literally gambling...and as a biz traveler, after this stay and another exceedingly seedy one just prior in little rock...i am done...off to holiday inn express for me...a known quantity...unless and until THEY start selling off to proprietors who smell of incense...

Typical motel room but not as inviting or spacious as in other La Quinta Inns. Does have the convenience of a fridge and micro. Major complaint and warning: super-slippery bathtub that is supposedly treated with a non-slip substance. I almost broke my neck! To her credit, the manager, "Rachel", took immediate action and supplied a bath tub mat. If the other rooms have the same type tubs and non-slip treatments, I would advise bathers to be very careful stepping into them. There is a deluxe continental breakfast, but the dining area is cramped and if you hit it at the wrong time you might have to bring your meal to the room. The value here is that this hotel is not as expensive as other over-priced motels in the Houston area.
