“It is what it is...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

By my title I mean it is a hotel that is in desperate need of some renovations which I understand from other posts is scheduled. My room is clean, spacious (except for the bathroom) however nothing special. The front desk staff is EXTREMELY kind and pleasant. Everyone greets you as you come and go and while you are being helped by other staff. This was a delight upon my arrival.

I have not seen/found a concierge room here which is something I expect with Hilton. This hotel is very close to Houston Hobby and does offer shuttle service. I would stay here again as it is conventiently located.

Thank you for your wonderful comments regarding our "extremely kind and pleasant staff", and the fact that you found our guestrooms clean and spacious.

We appreciate honest comments regarding our facility and honestly we are aware that the property is in need of some changes. We are very pleased to let you know that those changes are due to begin this year at which time the guest bathrooms will also be addressed.

It is our sincerely hope you have the opportunity to stay with us again to see all the changes and upgrades we make. We are at your service.

Warm Regards,

Helen Bonsall

“great hotel....incredible hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

one of the best nights away from home...staff was very knowledgeable about the area and surrounding attractions..my only complaint was the bathroom in our room was very small and need to be updated. the room itself was very large and bed was extremely comfortable.

Room Tip: any room would be nice

“You know it's a great hotel when we can only complain about the cold air in the business center!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We chose this hotel on the cuff when arriving from Dallas and needing a quick place to stay. There's a phone for this hotel in the baggage claim area, and the hotel's complimentary shuttle took between 5 and 10 minutes to arrive. Check-in was a breeze and we were put on the Hilton Honors floor. If these rooms speak for the rest of the hotel, they were great: larger in width than normal rooms, that little extra walking space so that there is a good amount of room between end of bed and wall, making it quite roomy. Room looked very cozy upon arrival, nice white comforters and super soft beds. The only negative in the room (and we had to look hard to find one) is the large crack under the door. I usually remedy this with a hotel towel, stuffed beneath the door, but really? When will hotels figure out how that darn crack that so many hotels have beneath their doors mean you hear everything in the hallway all night and it can ruin a good night's sleep easily. A rubber guard would work so easily to remedy this problem; we hope this hotel invests in these for its doors.

Kudos to the front desk staff who were not only friendly but efficient in handling multiple special requests, from finding a taxi number to changing the thermostat in the super cold business center to bringing extra bottles of water to the room.

The breakfast buffet is amongst the best you'll find in the U.S. and is in a very delightful hacienda style room with large lit tree up to the starry ceiling and a nice fountain--great way to start the day. So enjoy here, you will not be disappointed.

“Happy New Year to Us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We checked in on Jan. 1, 2012, to make an early flight on Jan. 2. Staff was super polite and helpful. Restaurant was closed for the holiday but a comp. dinner was provided via room service. Wonderful breakfast next morning, quick and efficent shuttle.

We plan another stay in March.

Room Tip: Upper floor, facing away from street has good night-time views of downtown.

“Ugh”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

I suspect that no one actually stays here because they want to. They stay here because they have to. Its your typical miserable airport hotel. The decor is like a bad acid flashback of the early 80s. Jimmy Buffet is never never a good theme. That's pretty much all that needs to be said about that.
