“Four Seasons...One Star”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Drive up: Feels very business-like.
Guest Reception: Impersonal and stoic
Lobby/Lounge: Well appointed, comfortable if not inviting.
Suite-Room: Dated!! Worn furniture, Carpet worn and stained. Appears no care is given.
Housekeeping: Had to call 3 days to have room serviced, still had to request basics afterwards.
Room Service: Cold, bland, petite portions and one would expect more of this level of hotel and especially in Houston.
*Up to this point the Four Seasons Hotel Houston would have earned an "Average" to "Poor" rating for it short comings. However it was the service that destroyed our stay.

We brought the housekeeping issues and room service issues to the guest reception staff, who failed on all counts to show they cared or would truly rectify the concern. To add insult to injury we felt the evening manager showed not only a lack of concern but a completely inappropriate level of attention on our adolescent son.
He demonstrated complete arrogance as if the housekeeping concerns were our fault and made no attempt to address our concern with room service. It offered a clear explanation as to why the reception staff behaved in the aloof manner.

Poor management = poor staff.

Also he’d best learn his place when it comes to fraternizing with hotel guests and not cross the line. We are certain Four Seasons won’t address these concerns, otherwise why would they allow this person to reach this position and train the staff to not care, but we felt the better informed TripAdvisor clients were the better they could make the choice for themselves.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere, try InterContinental near the Galleria.

“A classic Four Seasons property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Very comfortable business hotel, with large rooms and good showers. Just a shame that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

The hotel gym is excellent; large with great equipment and extended opening hours.

Breakfast is nothing special: only a la carte and prices are quite high. I suggest having breakfast at the great Phoenicia grocery store across the road.

The area surrounding the hotel is a ghost town in the evenings and at weekends, with very little to do within walking distance.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed here in August with our 9 month old. The hotel was wonderful for infants, providing a beautiful crib and offering child-proofing, etc. On check-in, our baby was given a small stuffed animal. The rooms was nice, with the Four Seasons bed. The best part of the hotel was the salt water pool and lounge area.

We ate at the hotel restaurant, Quattro, which was good. But it was tougher to find "baby-friendly" restaurants in that part of downtown over a weekend.

Overall, great stay in a good location. But tough to find restaurants to walk to. We would definitely stay again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for providing such wonderful feedback regarding your recent stay. I know how travelling can be with infants, and we try our best to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Next time, we will be sure to send you a list of more family friendly restaurants in the area.

Thank you again and I hope to welcome you and your family back to Houston soon.

Kind Regards,

“Great Choice for Houston Marathon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed at the Houston Four Seasons for the Houston Marathon recently. It was a great location being less than 2 short blocks from the start/finish line. The service by the staff was excellent and truly made this experience much nicer. The pool area was wonderful. The room was okay, with beds that probably needed to be replaced. The bathroom was nice, but with limited countertop space. A major issue was the noise from the hallway and other rooms, while in our room. You could hear all the phones ringing with wakeup calls, people talking in other rooms and particularly in the hallway. We didn't eat in the hotel because it wasn't very convenient. We would stay here again if we would be running this marathon again and would recommend it for that purpose.

“Solid Business Traveler's Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

One rarely goes wrong with a Four Seasons property and this one is no exception. The rooms are what you would expect from an upscale hotel. They're roomy, clean, well-appointed, and have great beds. The bathrooms are likewise first rate. The last room I was in had a fabulous mirror on the wall. The pool is great although service can be spotty out there. Beware that parking is very expensive here and the same goes for the food and beverage service. But, like I said, this place is designed and built for upscale business travelers.

Room Tip: For romance, get an upper room with a view and mirror on the wall.
