The Marriott Westchase is a decent, clean and comfortable Marriott. There are not really any outstanding or bad things to say about this hotel...its fine.
The gym and pool is probably the main highlight of the hotel. It has an inside / outside pool (not great for swimming lengths, but good for a dip) and a good array of weights and treadmills / bikes etc.

I stayed here for about a week and it was a "very, very friendly" place to be. Huge room with everything you want on a business trip. The concierge was outstanding. When the taxi did not arrive he drove me to the nearby place I had to go. They are always willing to help you with ANYTHING you need - a recommendation for a restaurant, directions, even sending packages for you. Even the gift store/convenience store in the lobby is like your local store, the man who runs the store was extremely helpful and friendly and a welcome face when I came home each evening. Yes, the decor is a little bit dated, but the staff more than make up for it, and I would rather stay with friendly obliging staff than in a swish hotel with aloof staff. I will be back and I highly recommend this busy hotel.
Breakfast, and the restaurant menu I definitely do not recommend. Drive somewhere nearby.

I had stayed here for 2 weeks before and the hotel was suffering hurricane damage at that time. Having said that it was still an enjoyable stay so I was happy to try it again.
I arrived very late on a Saturday night and was extremely pleased with the front desk service. Really very polite and helpful, which was a relief after such a long journey.
The room was spacious and comfortable, especially the beds. I have to agree that the aircon is a bit of a pain and can't be turned off. That's a shame because it is the only bad point I can make about the place.
The location was perfect for my business trip and there were many eateries and bars within walking distance or a few minutes drive. I will be booking again.

This is easily my favourite hotel in Houston. Conveniently located near the Sam Houston toll road, and right next to Westheimer Road down to the Galleria.
Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, free parking, easy walk to Outback for steaks, convenient for my clients. It's all good.
And a bargain this time at $79 a night.
Highly recommended hotel.
