I didn't smell anything in the lobby, but from the hallways on, I did. It just smelled old & musty, not pleasant. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the ice machine was broke. Went to the 2nd floor and walked from one end to the other, but no ice machine. Had to go to lobby, but at least that one was working. The front desk girl was very friendly and personable. The AC is the old kind, a box under the window. When we walked in, it was like a sauna! I don't understand, why, if we had reservations, the AC couldn't have been turned on at 2pm, since check-in time was 3pm. It took forever for the room to cool and their idea of a "high" setting is a joke. The room was just like the picture, nice. However, in the bathroom, the shower curtain had lots of mold and a man's shorts had been left hanging behind the door. The floor had plenty of cracks and needed grout. On top of all that, my friends who stayed across the hall said that their bathroom vent was just hanging! I have stayed at much cheaper hotels that had less issues. To top it off, we were told that breakfast with waffles, eggs, biscuits, etc would be out by 5:30am. By 5:40am there's was no one around and no breakfast. I had to ring the bell and yell out "helloooo" before someone finally came out for me to be able to check out. When I mentioned that we had been looking forward to their breakfast, he just looked at me. No apology at all. The evening shift person cared a whole lot more than he did! Maybe the other Microtel's are ok, but I would never go back to this one!
