We had stayed here about six months ago during a visit to Houston and everything was fine for the stay.
This time, we were needed a hotel to stay in as we moved back to Houston for a
transition periord time. It was simply bad.
The room smelled of mold - we asked for another room which required the front desk person to come up and check, before moving us. She said she couldn't smell anything.
We insisted, we were moved to a room with the same smell, but not quite as bad.
The elevator was literally banging (a loud bang) as it stopped - spooky.

We were suppose to stay a week, stayed a night.

We can only conclude there must be a new owner who simply is milking it out and not spending one penny on upkeep. Too bad, it was a good location, semi fair price before.
Now, its worth about 29.95 a night.

Based on other reviews, I was expecting a reasonable stay. So, upon driving up, the front driveway is rather beat up and the flower bed pitiful (mostly empty with a few dead bushes around it). The main door tiled area could use some soap and water & the trash can is filthy. It did get better walking into the lobby even though there was an odd musty sorf of smell. Looks like this hotel was updated a few years ago. Front office help was OK. Room was OK. Overall, the lobby, breakfast room, corridors and room need vaccuming. Highway traffic all night long. Oh yes, just two blocks east of the hotel is a rather rundown import warehouse district that made me concerned for the safety of our car. All of this for $93.00 after AAA discount. Think I'll pass on this hotel on my next trip to Houston.

Waited 15 minutes to check in beacause no one was at the front desk busy fixing a room
for another guest could use a bit better staffing.Rooms were ok renovated basic not great.Breakfast was sparse mostly packaged boiled eggs but free.Paid $59/tax.
Worth maybe half of that.OK for a one night stand off I-10 in West Houston though.

We stayed here for one night on the way to Galveston. I am here right now. We got a room on the first floor with our car parked right outside our window. The highway is close, but I have not heard anything through the glass so far. The room was spotless, nicely remodeled. The floors in the bathroom are wood, and I think they are nice. We had plenty of towels, hot water, and everything else you would expect from a mid price hotel. The mattresses are some of the best I have slept on in a hotel. Very nice. There is a strange smell...like air freshener covering an old smoke smell...but it is not overpowering and I am sensitive to smells yet I am fine. The check in guy was nice, the breakfast area is clean. The area is typical suburban right off the highway.
