This is a cute B&B in a nice historic area of Houston, but it really isn't particularly close to the center or close to any places to go out so might not suit anyone. It is an old house, so doesn't have air con and our room had a bathroom that wasn't directly attached to it. The bathroom and room were both functional, though not perfect, e.g. missing lightbulbs etc...
I guess this place suits someone who is traveling outside the height of summer who is looking for something 'quaint'. As others have said, the breakfast was great.

We spend our Thanksgiving with our family, many of whom live in Houston. This year, for the first time, we stayed at Sycamore Heights, a B & B with 4 rooms. It was lovely and we have decided to stay there every Thanksgiving from now on. Our hosts, Sergio and Pat, were very hospitable and did all they could to make us feel comfortable. As an example of their eagerness to please, they replaced our shower nozzle within moments of our expressing it was broken. The B & B is a few blocks from restaurants and interesting shops. We highly recommend Sycamore Heights.

We were in Houston recently on business and stayed at Sycamore Heights. It was a beautiful Victorian house with friendly and accommodating hosts. The antique bed was so comfy and the breakfast in to morning was the best I've had at any B&B. Seasonal fruit salad (really!), obviously freshly made, followed by bacon, eggs, and english muffin. you could tell it was all prepared just for us (i.e. not sitting around in a warm oven for hours) including the coffeee and tea. We highly recommend the Sycamore Heights!

Terrific comfort and value. I used to travel to Houston on business several times a year for extended periods and worked just a few doors down the street from this B&B. My company would book me to stay at Sycamore Heights because it was 2 doors down to my office and saved on rental car. I could walk one block to great restaurants and shopping. I have stayed in EVERY room so I can attest to fact that the beds are very comfortable and it is like being in your own home. They even provide comfy bathrobes in the closets if you need one. You have lots of privacy and the breakfasts are awesome. The B&B is very clean. There is a fabulous screened porch on upper level and a sun room on lower level and the back yard has fountains and lovely landscaping. As a woman, I felt very safe and comfortable with the hosts, who are very helpful, friendly, and caring but not over bearing. It was hard to leave to go to work...For comfort, value, and quality service, I highly recommend it. I haven't been back for a year, but I stayed there for 6 years prior, and can't imagine it has changed much.
