First of all, I hope you never have to go here because it is only for MD Anderson patients and their families/friends. However, if you do have to go to MD Anderson, this is the most convenient place to stay. I've never stayed in a hotel with syringe disposal before, nor easy access to wheelchairs, I was worried about staying here, especially after reading the review about hearing the toilets flushing all night. I haven't had that problem in my room.
Everything is fine, The hotel tries to make things interesting for the people staying here with musicians, movie nights, etc. It is a short walk over a walkway to get to MD Anderson, and the front desk can print out your schedule. I had 2 packages shipped to me here, but changed my reservation so I wasn't here when they arrived, It impressed me that they saved the packages and brought them to me when I arrived,
There is a convenient shuttle to take guests within a 2 mile radius. The restaurant is fine.
If price is a concern, there is an extensive list of hotel and extended stay options listed on the MD Anderson website. If a long-term stay is cost prohibitive, ask the social worker assigned to the patient for low-cost options. The price at the Rotary House seems OK given its location in a major metropolitan area.
